Lighting Need help with side lighting

Please don't get me wrong about any of this. I'm more of person where nothing is good enough. I chase things till they are the best they can be. If a grow is smaller, personal use or just whatever the production lights work and work well. Me on the other hand I will spend thousands trying to get the best thing going. It's a sickness lol. After spending the last 3 weeks comparing specs, detailed information, par watts, quality of parts, even quality of the quality parts I finally landed on one of the best lights sold and it was passed to me with a huge discount where it was impossible to say no.
Hey BigSm0 thx for all the advice! Nice to hear you got a great discount on a top line light

As for the training I don't generally take photos but I use soft ties from hydro farm I believe. I gently pull the main branch down and wait for more to start coming up. Then I continue to do so with newer taller growth. The plant will take its energy and focus it towards many new bud sites instead of just 1. Keep this in mind when tying them down. The focus is for an even top.
Hi BigSm0 sorry for the noob questions here but I am looking to lst. At what age do you start your lst do you look for certain amount of leaves or nodes? I know you said you just carefully bend over the main cola so I'm assuming you can use pipe cleaners or I even have plant ties from the dollar store to hold them to the pot . How far do you usually bend them down and do you ever bend them back the opposite way say like every other day so the leaves underneath the bend can get light or do you rotate plants or something. There is also leaf tucking do u do that? I def wanna try to do the lst to get the more bud sites but am a bit nervous I don't wanna bend her to much or to little. Thx again for all your help and advice

I purchased 2 Mars300 lights on Amazon for $99 each. Since I'm a Prime member, I got free 2-day shipping and should have them delivered tomorrow. :)

I may also have gone crazy and purchased a bunch of new seeds... I know, so much for sticking to a budget, huh? lol

Nice to hear your upgrading witchy! I was really thinking about getting another one to extend the light coverage cause I was afraid my one wasn't enough light coverage for 3 plants that's why I was asking about cfls and side lighting. How old are your girls now witchy and I know about sticking to a budget theres always something or upgrading. What seeds did you get?

The Mars 300 and 600 are basically the same light. So 2 300's equal one 600. It's best to have 2 lights for 2 reasons. Mainly is better coverage and the second reason is unexpected light failure. If one 600 dies your shit out of luck. Where there would still be a 300 light to use. But with 2 lights compared to one it's much more money. The drivers, diodes fans are the same between the 2 lights.
BigSm0 which do you think is more beneficial having 2 leds like mentioned above except 1 300w and 1 600w or the setup I have now which is 1 600w led and 2 metal reflectors with 2 cfls bulbs in each with both veg and flower bulbs. Do you think there would be a big difference? Thx

And these are the seeds I got. Had never purchased from them, and decided to try the cheap seeds.

I'm also awaiting the delivery of another order from the place I usually buy from (actually my 4th order from them, probably have enough seeds for the rest of my life!).

Hey Dan don't worry about the questions. I sat here for a minute and was ready to go into my methods when I remembered a sight I went to some time ago for advice on this same subject.

http://www.autoflowering-cannabis.com/autoflower-lst/

This is a great tutorial on the reasoning as well as how to, which is just as important. Once you learn this the rest comes easy.

Personally I waited till my plants seemed like they needed it. Due to height restrictions I let mine go about 2 feet before I did some lst. It works very well but also keep in mind that it does stress the plant a little and any auto stress equals slower growth for a short time after

The goal with lighting is to give your plants enough and also try To make sure the plant is covered. the beauty of growing is you can always expand. I started out small and ended up going pretty big. It's fun to upgrade and witness your plants do better season after season
