ran into a ph issue . watering day is tomo. ordering ph down. not sold in area.

question 1. what should we use for ph down. lemon juice? vinegar? "even read battery acid but that scares me lol"

question 2. should we go for a lower ph this watering to regulate the ph or just give the plants a proper range of ph and it regulates it self??

question 3. how much of what ever is a quick fix for ph down should we use for about 3 gallons ish of water.

How old are your gals, Ashton? Do you have pics?
Vinager can be used to lower pH, I prefer Apple cider with mothers, but the dosing really depends on your water. How are you checking pH levels?

I'll swing over and take a look
Don't sweat using straps, I started with nothing but the cheap vial kits. We all start somewhere.

soil is fox farms. top half of pots are happy frog bottom half of pots is ocean forest. supersoil amendment from GBD is added to the bottom half. perlite and castings added to both top and bottom mixes.

:toke: - Ash', I'm worried it's too acidic in there; FF soils are NIT what they used to be, and many folks are getting badly acidic, undercooked bags,..I'm talking low 5's here! :nono: If this is the case, that store water with the higher pH is actually helping (very weird to have it this high though, what exactly is it? --spring, drinking, Di,... none of these should be over 7.0, BTW,.. and a TDS or EC meter would help answer some things,...
Also, using a rich soil like OF combined with that mix might make it too hot! Symptoms look a lot like P defc. which can lock out under acidic conditions, or loaded soil with high ppm's can be cause other lock-out issues,... :greencheck: we need whole plant pics! And the [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] thing you need for this type of grow in a good soil pH probe like the Accurate 8, you can limp along using strips or test drops, but in-pot pH is what matters most, as it will determine what you pH the water at,... Unfortunately, if flushing is needed to save the plant, it'll really mess with the supersoil, so a tough call may have to be made at some point if she really starts to go tits-up!
>> your first questions:
- KindSoil Phil said to use citric acid for pH down, specifically Earth Juice crystals, but that's bollocks, any canning-grade pure citric is fine,.. it's what I used, and it take very little! 1/8-1/4 tsp/gal on 7.6/180ppm water,...
-- pH'ing the water first helps preserve the buffering capacity of the soil, and prevent bigger drifts in pH overall,... but until we have some idea about that in-pot pH, the fix is a gamble and guess,...

-- you will have to tinker with the water to see how much to use, if and when you need to,...

Thanks for the help. We tested the run off after a solid watering of 5.8-6.2 ish water. Run off came out at a good 6.4-7 so high pH was 85% sure the issue. And was Walmart store bought water. The tap water tested lower pH. Walmart water was over 8
Pics are right b4 watering . So a tad droopy. All perky now. Removed most leafs that were very ill looking. Here they are.
