Hey there, my baby is looking a bit sick... the initial single leaves are pretty much dead however i read somewhere that this can be normal so thats not worrying me to much. My concern lies with the yellowing leaf tips and slight discolouration of some of the leaves.
All in all im not too worried as she is growing very well and at 37 days she is showing some nice flowers all over.
Anyway after doing my own research i've pretty much come to the conclusion that my problems are because of my high ph which i have been battling with since day one... i found this yellow sulphur and was wondering whether it is ok to use and how much.
If not i'm just gonna carry on with the ph water and hope for the best, any advice appreciated!

Not to sure about the sulfur dude but i would suggest just buying some PH down and where is your PH at?? at 37 days you realy do want to try and get a stable PH if you was around day 50+ of a 60 day strain then i wouldnt mess and just feed water but it will bust up your yeild a bit if its only so young still..:smokebuds:

 don't use that stuff Crash! I think that's elemental sulphur (pure non-ionic), so very the wrong stuff bro.',... it's iron or magnesium sulphate that's used to lower pH; Boss Muddy and others here also recommend distilled white ving. (not cider or any other), not sure how much per gallon yet... try mixing 1 Tbsp/gal and take a pH reading... low 6's might be okay? I'm still looking into this myself....

**************<update>*************** Ahh, found some info from good ol' Jorge's book: start with 1 tsp/gal,( good water), let it sit for a few minutes, recheck pH; should drop a full point from starting pH; add or dilute accordingly.....

To Ph down and if your organic i use lemon juice or you can use citric acid as its a tad gentler than store bought Ph down and hopefully not hurt the microheard, in coco i just use normal Ph down bought at the grow shop as its all chems anyway.

when adding this do so slowley useing a syringe and check your Ph as you go so you get it right first time after a few times you'll nail it mate. good luck with the rest of your grow :peace:

Hey crash,

Don't like sulfur as pH down -- reasons too numerous to list. If ya can't find simple phosphoric acid (hydro pH down) distilled vinegar will work or an occasional solution of citric acid (a tablespoon into a liter of water and dose sparingly each week). The citric will give your plants a kick you won't believe! Also, don't forget to flush occasionally, yeh?

If you have to lower the ph only a bit, you could try a sanitary oder bath-cleaner concentrate.
Most are based on phosphoric oder citric acid - and they have ome tensides to lower the water tension for better takeup in the soil/medium/plants.
I used it once, but then I had another water source and hat to switch to some real ph-downer because i had to much foam on the water :-)
DIY works only on a little scale here, you might really want to get some real ph-downer made for that very purpose.

Cheers

Ph is around 7.5. Yeah i was kinda scared of the sulphur so didn't use any last night, will try adding a tablespoon of lemon juice with the next watering then a flush after that then gonna introduce some 1/4 strength flwr nutes. Like i said i'm not that worried, info on her says 70-80 days from seed to harvest so i'm expecting she'll be done at around 90, also max indoor height is said to be 80 cm (exact amount of room i have) and as its my first time i didn't expect her to reach that however i had to do some more lst'ing of the top because i was running out of room and she's still growing strong. Gonna wait till she stops growing up and then putting a purple kush in the oven as well... can't wait!
cheers for the replies guys very helpful!

Elemental sulfur can be used to lower the soil pH but it's very slow acting. It will lower the soil pH on initial application, but within a few days it will go back up. It takes about 5-6 weeks for it to really impact the soil pH. If used it should be mixed in with the soil and left to sit for at least a month before use.
