I spoke the the AN growers' help line. He confirmed the products are new, not yet even sent out to distributors (not available).

He also confirmed that their warnings that only the most experienced users should consider using Connoisseur Coco products are hype. The stuff works like any of their other base nutrients, and as the top-of-the-line shouldn't present any problems.

I wil be starting a grow later this week, my first - 8 plants in coco coir in 5 (trade 7) gallon Root Builder II air pots, in a 1.2 sq. meter tent with 900-watt LED. It looks like I will be an early adopter of pH Perfect Connoisseur Grow and Bloom Coco A&B, and look forward to documenting my grow here at AN.

No i don't think so nonfiction :) just a relatively new grower confused over why there would be a different line of PH perfect A&B for coco and why they recommned for advanced growers.

I'm guessing answer one would be that when you mix the coco nutes, the PH will need to be lower than whats acceptable for soil. This means they have to do something to the buffers in the nutes to bring it into range.

Answer 2 i'm guessing again, but would be because soil is considered a more forgiving medium becuase it has some of the things a plant likes already in there. with coco, the plant gets what you feed it! I personally wouldn't say it's more complicated - just different.

You sparked my interest bro.. no ph'ing is a strong selling point to me. Tried looking for the connoisseur version but no luck.. just got the regular Sensi Coco Grow A&B. On the way now :)

im using regular sensi A+B for my coco grow. Yes, it keeps ph at 6.2 and buffers a ton before being adjusted to 5.8. When used %50 each of A and B, some of my plants suffered cal deficiency. nothing else.
