Lighting new GN Units

hypothetical question, hypothetical answer.if I saw 2 graphs and an overlay,i might be able to take an untrained uneducated guess.but id rather see results hypothetically lol.

opps sorry for making the gn thread fuzzy again.back on subject.

If 300 grams per 150w of LED could be achieved that would be freakin sweet and would totally rock the grow light industry to it's core.
I do wonder low long it would take China to start copying them at which point the demand for luxeon diodes would sky rocket and supply may become limited and possibly force a price rise of the diodes.
There was a time where a lot of chinese lights used inferior LED's but due to the market demand of customers demanding higher bin leds from reputable companies such as Epiled, Bridgelux, Cree & Osram.
So if these new GN lights use Luxeon made by Phillips and they change the game as massively as predicted and Luxeon becomes the consumers choice, will it effect the ability for GN to keep up with demand at some point down the line if the availability of the diodes dries up?
I realize that Philips is a large company but even large companies can be affected by a large spike in global demand and sure they would find ways to increase production to keep up with demand but that would take some time.
I'm just wondering if there may be a period where demand outstrip supply, because after all what customer doesn't want a better more powerful LED that uses less power and is quieter?

I wouldnt have thought the grow light led sector was big enough to cause a supply problem. With homes/businesses now installing led lights instead of halogen you would think that supply would dry up but its ticking along nicely.

Companies like Bridgelux will copy or maybe even better the phillips product, they have to to stay in businesses. This is the natural order of things :)

its going to be fascinating watching LEDs and grow lights evolve over the next few years.

I am looking forward to their new Stuff! The website is offline...I think, this is a good sign for new content coming up?:dance2:
