New Grower new grow Dr feelgood, part 2 or 3 time is a charm

You really can't go wrong there, they're up and running, they won't die, but you could kill e'm,take it easy with them ,they are plants and want to live more than you want them to.And you got the eyes of the world watching you:no: :D:

I'm trying, watering has been one of the things I have to really work on, Im using a fabric pot again and they can be frustrating ( at least to me ) Im trying to go every other day but the soil is really dry by then ( I had issues during some previous grows, pretty much had to water every day ) we will see!

Best of luck crossman. I will be popping in on you from time to time if that is ok? I use fabric pots as well. They are wonderful for roots.

feel free a4, i can use any and all advice. I like the fabric pots, I just havent seemed to be able to find the happy medium yet with watering. Although, correct me if im wrong, it appears that you cant "over water" them because of the drainage.

Drainage is great but if you don't give the roots a chance to dry out a little bit between waterings you can cause problems. These things do not like mushy, soggy soil. I almost bought a 10 pack of Dr. Feelgood seeds. They were in my shopping cart and I changed my mind at the last minute and switched them out for SS#1's instead. I'm growing 3 Short Stuff strains now and they all seem to react the same way to too much or too little feed/water. I water every 4th or 5th day. It's getting more frequent now that they are drinking a lot more. But I generally wait until the pot feels light and then give it one more day. This works well for me. I am a total newb though so take that for what it's worth.

She looks good so far dude. :smoke:

ya, i use the finger check, by day 2 the top 2 inches are feeling dry. I'm thinking I may have to just monitor daily ( which I dont mind at all )

Yeah, like Capt. Peck said, they can be overwatered. Not so much at one time but they do need time to use up what you have in there. You are doing it right, 2" is perfect. I try not to let a crust form on top and every time I water I scrape up the top real well and try to mix the soil around. The only other thing I would say is just to water slowly. The water has a tendency to want to "channel" through if you aren't careful and not really saturate the soil. A slow watering will help allow the soil to absorb the water.

new update

here are the latest. This plant is approx 16 days from germination. I think it looks pretty good. My question now is do i start feeding or let it go a while longer?photo (7).JPGdf006.jpgphoto (7).JPGdf007.jpgphoto (7).JPGdf008.jpg ( sorry,i took upside down pics )

Hi Crossman, I really hope that this grow goes well for you. I read your first thread, glad you didn't give up. Looks like this one is off to a better start. I've had some really good success with Dr. FG. Here's my two bits. I wouldn't even think about adding any nutrients at all until at least the plants are well into flowering. Keep them under about 18 hours of light, make sure the plants are not too hot. My experience with Dr. FG is that they flower later than you may expect, especially in larger pots. For an auto-flowering plant they seem to take their time flowering. Good side of this is they establish themselves (veg) for a good while as well and end up beefy. Just keep doing what you're doing, water when dry. Don't feed yet, they'll be fine. I also found that Dr. FG's do fine with moderate light. Make sure the lights are high enough to keep the plants cool and don't worry too much about having great amounts of light on the plants. This plant takes time but well worth the wait and efforts.
Here's a Dr. FG at 94 days, still putting on bud beef.
