New Grower new grow Dr feelgood, part 2 or 3 time is a charm

yes and no, the photos 3 posts up are the latest pics. You can read my response to randy above. I did feed with a light nute solution. this grow is really driving me crazy. most of the plant looks ok and starting to flower but it seems every couple of days i get some dead leafs ( as you can see ). BUT, there is new growth underneath the dead leaves. I will cont to scratch my head.

Well the starting to flower is a good thing. My advice would be to just keep doing what your doing. Again, I would lay off the nutes. I had yellowing of leaves on my Dr. FG grow as well but they turned out more than fine. I remember that your are using compact flouresent bulbs (yes, no?). How far away are your lights from the plants? In my opinion DR. FGs do not need a lot of high intensity light. If your lights are less than 6 inches away raise them up for a while, see what happens. I would use a 13 watts bulb at least 6 inches away over each plant.

Yes, i got a little worried over the past week and a half, it seemed that every other day there were more dead leaves but the upper part of the plant looks great. I am using cfls, I have 1 32 and 2 44's. the plant is about 5 inches away from the light. I could just pull a light easy enough but it seems so contradictory.

I agree, it does sound contradictory to what seems to be common growing knowledge. Try reducing the light by half and raise the lights a bit for a week. See if you notice any difference. It's not going hurt, worth a try. If you don't see an improvement go back to the light you were using. Just something else to try if you're out of options.

Alrighty then,

Looking at the pictures in order you can see the leaf tips starting to curl in a certain direction, resembling a claw. This points to a Nitrogen issue....

The yellowing I'd say is being caused by a calcium deficiency accompanied by the Nitrogen problem and the bronze spots you see appearing are a magnesium deficiency.

Putting all these symptoms together tells me your soils pH is out of whack as apposed to her needing a stronger feed. You said you use 'gh ph solution'. Is this where you drip some of the feed into a container with a chemical/powder and shake till it changes colour (or something pretty similar)??? If so then I'd swap this for a pH pen as soon as you can. I had a friend growing in coco using one of those drip pH things and where she thought she was feeding at 5.8, when I checked with my pen, turned out to be 7.4 Big difference.

I'll wait to see how you adjust/check the pH before carrying on but flush her out as soon as you can, that'll be step one no matter what :)

Dammmmmmmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnn, that is a mouthful. I am using solution for the ph check. I did so because every review i read about pens go 1 for 1 positive/negitive,so i went for liquid. morepos than neg reviews. I will flush tomorrow. any recomendations on ph meter? I guess I need to get one of those quick. thanks very much for the assessment.
