New Grower new grow Dr feelgood

9/30 update.

hey folks starting to see some good growth finally. Spoteed some burn on 2 leaf tips which is my fault ( we will call it not reading directions carefully on nutrient bottle ). Just flushed well today and next watering to see whats up. Glad I didnt pull this when I wanted to. photo (7).JPGdf6.jpg

I have 2 44 watt cfl's and 1 32cfl full spectrum. same ligth that grew the shit out of a royal dwarf plant.

I have a dr. feelgood seed waiting to be germinated someday so I will be watching this thread!

I am not experienced grower but I will try to help you my way. So be carefull with my advices, I will just tell you what I see.
Not long ago we were observing similar problems on this forum, quite good start in the very first days and then cut. It soon came out that the grower had used fertilising additive as a primary medium and put 100% of it instead of 10-20% as it should be mixed.
In the first days little baby relies on food stored in the seed. It does not produce sugars with help of fotosynthesis, it uses stored ones to create a little bit stem, a little bit roots and a little bit leafes. After building basic elements needed to start to accept energy that comes from photons it starts to explore soil with roots. Now problems start if the plant can not accept the environment you offer. Remember that you are Mother Nature in this case.
3 months ago I overwatered my soil severely (first watering lasted for 3 weeks, that tells all). Seeds were put in this too wet and too heavy soil (I was sure it was just perfect ). The progress in the first 5 days was quite ok, I think because the roots havent been formated yet and babies have not tested the quality of soil yet. Then they started to expand their roots but they could not.And the growth discontinued.
The same in your case. Babies grew slowly because for some reason, there was too hostile down there in the earth. Then slowly they mature and adapt a little bit, grow a little bit but they are more and more behind schedule. That was in my case and yours also, I think.
Lights are OK, you must have screwed with your soil. You talk about overfertilising, I think it was far too early to feed at all. Maybe some root stimulators but not growth fertilisers. And besides you overdosed. For us, unexperienced growers, heavy feeding is very dangerous.
How I have solved my case? I bought Plagron LightMix andGrowMix which are very, very light and fertilised for only 7 or 21 days. In this kind of soil fertiliser game is quite easy to play because you know exacty how much food it already contains. Nothing or very litlle. That helps with flushing at the end too. You control it 100%.
I think you will sooner or later agree that your plant should be cut and you should start a new grow where something should be changed. And that something is soil I think.

Thanks Gonzo. I am leaning towards pulling it. Going to try to give it a week longer or so. I think my original soil may been too hot but there is growth now so who knows. I fertilized because the plant had a few sets of leaves and I figured it would either hurt it or help it. I would love to talk to someone else who has grown this strain. One of the first posters stated he grew this plant and it was just a smaller type of plant. I just took a gander at it today and there appears to be another set of leaves. time will tell

Always feel free to msg me I'm always happy to throw my 2 cents around.

You can check out my old Journal here. It looks good, mine was a bit farther along @4 weeks but that was also under a 400w HPS, I'm not familiar with using CFLs.

I can see from the old growth it did get burned early and that sent it into recovery mode, but it looks like it is back on track and growing for you. To pull it or not is a hard question. Looking at the two pics from 9/30 and yesterday there is substantial and healthy growth. Personally I always hold out for the best and would keep it, but that's me. When I grew DRFG it was slow to start veg growth but caught up quickly to the others I was growing. It then stalled a bit before flowering and then caught up quick packing flowers on.

With auto's it's important to not feed them for the first 3 weeks and don't start them in hot soil. My non scientific observations made it seem like feeding early also caused more males.

Thanks torch. I have done 3 grows with cfls and have gotten close to once dry on each one. I know hps would have obtained better yields but I cant just go that route at the moment. The cfl"s work for the moment. the height is whats confusing to me. My other grows put on vertical growth as you would expect. this thing is looking like a bush about 3 inches tall. I even noticed more growth ( leaf wise ) today when I checked on it. i'm going to give it more time and see where it goes.

update, should I be worried?

Hey folks. This thing is starting to grow BUT, the leaves are a little pale and a couple of leaf tips look funky. I was looking through rosenthals garden ref and it looked to me like posible over fert's. I havent been feeding much and when i do it is quarter strength. Any thoughts?photo (7).JPGdf9.jpg
