New Grower New grower, watering question

http://www.maplereefplantproducts.com/

I have used these with success....their first batch the mixing chemist forgot to add the calcium...but it's been fixed and improved since then....a simple one part grow and one part bloom...

I believe Reeferman had something to do with the formulation of them {not the mixing of the first commercial batch :D ]

What's the calcium and magnesium in the water? Does it tell you a % or a "PPM" .. hmm the # I'm looking for should read as "Total Dissolved Solids" "Parts Per Million" or "Electrical Conductivity".. if yours is low enough, pH perfect will be.. well, perfect.

You're looking at about ~$35 for grow nutes and $35 for bloom nutes.. your soil base that you've made what does it consist of? The other additives that would be great would be something to innoculate microbes in the soil and something to keep them chugging along. All together, you'll probably spend just about $100 on nutes without cal-mag if you go with pH perfect, but it'll last quite a while. That's if you go with their middle of the road line too, not the economic line.. You can save about $40 if you go down to the entry line nutes.

Your temps seem to be just about perfect. TDS means Total Dissolved Solids, EC mean Electrical Conductivity, PPM means parts per million. Its basically how much stuff is in your water.

TSS - 620 mg/l
Ec. - .948 ms/cm
I couldn't find a ppm at all... I hope that helps u out

Btw 3 of my seeds have taken off, 2-Jh and 1- bubbleicious. I used a germination kit that was an option when I bought my seeds. 1 of the 3 that haven't done anything I think I lost(the little root hair that comes out ended up shriveling up on me so I'm assuming that's a lost cause) as for the other 2 they just simply haven't opened up or anything yet. Is it too early to say that they aren't going to work? Or do I still have time yet, I put all of them in the germ kit on Sunday the 24th. As for the other 3, all of them have their first set of permanent leaves on it.

I'm not sure on the ingredients of the soil mixture, it was one of the more expensive bags of potting soil. It was the home mix that the garden center puts together, the agent that I talked to said its comparable to a miracle potting soil.. I don't think that's what ur looking for but I don't have access to the bag right now since I'm at work.

And as for watering I've been watering the germ kit using a spoon and just watering the seed pods until they're moist, as for the others that are in their permanent homes( 2 gallon pots), I made sure the mixture was pretty moist before I added the seed pod in me and then watered again to moisten. They seem to be doing ok. Also I'm not quite understanding the whole ph thing, what I learned way back in school is that if its below a 7(1-6) it's considered acidic, and anything above a 7(8-14) is considered base or alkaline, which after reading everything on here it seems to be ass backwards, am I just not reading it right or what?

As for the nutes I think I'm going to buy the ph perfect set up if my water seems to be ok.

I've seen good results from the FF nutes, mostly on photosensitives, and from the research I've done, Autos do best between 74 to 84 degrees constant.

hope that helps

That's insane, your water is obnoxiously hard... It's 1.0 EC basically from tap.. that's very hard water.. I don't see the PH perfect line working as they say anything more than 200PPM and they won't guarantee it works, you're technically at around ~800PPM, 4 times the recommended value. I'm going to dig up some stuff on hard water nutes for you, as they may be the best way to go.

If you have time, get some good details on the soil if you can - that's the life of your plants and if you have issues later on down the road, we'll need to know what's in it so we can help you out brother. It's very important. You're reading the pH stuff correctly <7 is acidic 8> is alkaline. Marijuana in soil likes a pH of 6.5.

Ask the garden center for the amendments in the soil as well as the ratios if they can give them to you, that's what's more important. It sounds like you're doing good with the germinated.. remember, moist, not damp, not wet, not soaked - just moist. Good warm temps (75-81) and moist media you'll have sprouts in ~24-48 hours brother.

Total Hardness as CaCo3 - 367 (21gpg) idk if that helps or not
