First time grower here. Actually my first indoor tent grow is some tomatoes I'm doing now in HP Promix with EWC and liquid nutes. I'd like to do my first MMJ grow, which will start in about 4 weeks, in coco instead of peat.
Being a first time grower I want to keep things at a simple level for the soil and feeding and watering thru germination, seedling, veg and flower.
What I'm wondering is if it would be a good idea to mix up a batch of coco and EWC and maybe perlite as a base soil that I would use for the first couple of weeks after germination. But also take that base batch and add amendments to it and cook it for a few weeks. And then I can setup two tiers or layers in my pots. Top half regular base and bottom half is amended. And as plants grow the roots will get what they need from the soil and possibly some top dressing. And I wont have to transplant. And water only for the most part.
Is this an advisable approach?
