Im new to dwc , but hv a little experience in soil . But im trying to learn dwc because of better yield and tired of buying dirt lol

My equipment, 2 -5gallon buckets, 2 -60 gallon pumps , 2-300 watt marhydro led lights . In a 4x2x5 grow tent temps stay in the 70s . Im using the GH hydroponics 3 part nutes micro ,grow, bloom . I hv the whole fox farm line up for soil and hydro

My ph is 5.8 and my ppm is at 250 ppm. My plants are 8 days old . My tap water is 7.4 ph and 164 ppm from tap . Is this bad or good and leaf tips are starting to turn light green . I check ph regular and ppm the ph stays the same but the ppm drops a little. So r they trying to tell me they r hungry . Water temps in the high 60s CAM01135.jpg

sounds like your right bud .you should be able to up the ppm 100 no worries :Sharing One:PH under 5.8 if poss :goodluck:

Thanks so much for replying back . I checked this morning and the ph was at 5.9 but the ppm went up from 250 ppm to 255 ppm is this saying there nt eating and do i need to dilute the nute mixture bk down to 250 ppm . Or just leave it alone for now and check later to see if it goes bk down

DWCocha is mentoring me too when it comes to DWC so better give his word a stronger value. I think you can go ahead and raise the nutes up to 300 to 350ppm at this point. (I use EC -chart and I assume your ppm is based on Hanna?) Those are so young ones they wouldn't need any more than that. My day 20 Ultimates are having 500ppm now but they seem to like a bit stronger mix. Ph 5.9 is just good IMHO. I personally started to aim at 6.0ph since because for some reason I really get issues if my Ph goes below 5.8 even a bit. Actually I think it would be best to let the ph ride between 6.2 to 5.8 during a week or two in vegetative mode.

In flowering it would be best to keep higher, like I let it ride between 6.0 to 6.5 even.

And welcome to the forum from my part too! Just joined here myself couple weeks ago or so. How about you continue doing updates on how your first DWC is going and we try to help you best we can. GOOD LUCK!

Ok thanks , and sounds good . When lights come on im going to up the ppm to about 300ppm and see what happens . Plus take a few pics of my soil grow that i gt going on at the moment to .

I have a tds and ph meter i bought off of Ebay . I dnt no if its on the hanna scale or nt . I live in the us , my ph and tds meter was cheap it dnt say what the conversion was for the tds meter . Do u guys think i need to buy a better one .

My strain im growing is heavy weight fast and vast . And i also hv a Auto ak-49 that i started about 3 days ago and its in the rockwool cube and sitting in a dwc bucket to .

And thanks for all the advice i will listen to u guys , i know u guys no your stuff its just nice to hv help and gt pointed in the right direction

Well today i gave them a higher ppm up 300 ppm from 250 ppm and gonna see how they respond . And will check ph and ppm later , ph is still dead on at 5.8 and has nt moved at all . So im thankful for that . I gt a Opium and Delahaze in soil in my flower box . But i dnt no how to upload pics yet

I had a full grow with a strange feed plan, max EC from day 1 to flush (1800 EC with dutch pro A+B grow or bloom and the addictives need for that period) I actually had to raise it to 2300 the last 10-15 days.
It is save cause your know your plants get what they need and as much as they need and you do no need to change your feeding plan every time you refill your bucket and I had no Nuts issues.
You can test it and see how it works.

Oh and about PH... cause it can fucking drive you insane especially if you smoke a bowl or 2 more, let it drift from 5.7-6.5 and then lower it back at 5.7 prob once-twice per day in a small bucket maybe once in a bigger one.

Tbh shed I doubt a seedling that small can have an effect on a 5gal res yet .Most likely just a bit of fluctuation ?

Thanks Med ,agree on the ppm increase but cant agree on the PH above 5.8 .As a rule of thumb it is best kept under 5.8 as some essetial elements get locked out any higher & others that seedling don't need ,do become available .Looking at sheds baby 5.6 -5.7 & let it drift up before adjusting back down would be my advice .

Bro ? full strength from day 1 ? thats crazy ...no wonder PH drive you insane lol :Sharing One:

If you can get there feed right guys the PH remains stable ... thats why we test the ppm through the week & adjust .Right now I have to add 1 drop of PH down to each bucket a day & im good until the next day :goodluck:

Last I tried 5.8ph on my recent grow, in just a day or to got some browning of the older leaves and they got all crusty. I raised it up to 6.2 and now they seem a bit happier. I just dont know why but thats what happens to me. Many say that 5.5 to 5.8 would be optimal but in my experience I just get trouble! I have used couple ph meters both calibrated so it is not that.

This is really weird. I wonder why it is like that in my case?
