Extraction NEW TO EXTRACTS / BASIC QUESTION

Good question!
I'll follow you on this one.

One advise to all makers of extracts. Listen to an old lab rat...
I notice in most videopresentations, that people make a small, but important technical mistake.
You should ALWAYS make your filters wet with the appropriate solvent prior to use, whether it is coffee filter or a filter made from a fabric. You loose a lot of materal when you let your extract saturate the filter. Saturate filters FIRST with the solvent, then filter the solvent containing the extract. A minimum of material is then left in the filter. If my students dump valualble chemicals on a dry filter, I will remove it from the bench and tell the student to start from scratch, while I watch. To be honest...it is a mistake only amateurs can allow them self to do ONCE and only once.

I save all of my trim and popcorn in bins in the freezer. I use it to make canna/coconut oil, bubble hash, and tincture. I steer clear of anything that uses anything that is very flammable or explosive as part of the extraction.

Anyone experienced with butane extraction?

It seems easier to me, to clean up gas than alcohol/naphtha.

Instead of a hot plate, a pyrex bowl in a pan with boiled water should do it.
Also, butane won't wake up neighbours in the night because of fumes smelling of danger. Alc./petrolium products can't be used at the balcony of an appartment building.

Normally I would smoke all the material, but I ordered a simple vaporizer for both dry and wet matter.

I have been researching Honey Bee extractor. Anyone here who have used it?

Whoa whoa whoa,to say bho is better is quite subjective ,you have any tests/reports to back that up..alcohol extractions maintain more terps, are way smoother and safer than bho..like the saying goes "those who do not know,smoke BHO"...

Read it again, I said Hexane is better than BHO
