New Grower New to growing. Need suggestion on a possible setup.

Hey paronic what up geeza!
I use a 130watt 6400k cfl in that cab pictured for veg stage. Heat is minimal but i still run the extraction fan ( which is a small computer fan) to help remove heat from cab. It extracts into the room. As the plants mature it does give off the smell of ripe bud you can't hide that so beware or use a carbon filter.
You can do it cheap cfl are def the cheapest option because you don't need a ballast I think a small reflector should cost about 50 bucks Aussie dollars and cfl globe about 45 Aussie dollars. Small extraction fan 125mm computer fan about 25 bucks, circulating fan in cab about 10 bucks. Cheap as chips mate why wouldn't ya do it. You don't have to line yor grow space with Mylar if you don't want, this will just help get better light coverage throughout your space although your plant will still produce.
It's all good Jim browski, take the trip!

Hey friend,

Sorry for the delayed response, I started looking last night at different hydro sites in the UK but I see you don't mind eBay (I use it all the time myself, some growers are paranoid though) so I started shopping there instead. Check this out;

Nutrients; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BIOBIZZ-G...arden_PlantsSeedsBulbs_JN&hash=item3f0a56a48f
PH Pen; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Digital-p..._Measurement_Equipment_ET&hash=item5aed6e0713
PH Calibration solution (You'll need this with a cheap pen): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BUFFER-7-...arden_PlantsSeedsBulbs_JN&hash=item416f353747
Light; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200w-DUAL...arden_PlantsSeedsBulbs_JN&hash=item4605e7a359

Containers: Get some mop buckets or grow containers locally, drill holes the size of how round a pencil is in the bottom, 8-10 holes, spread out.

As well, here's the media, shipping is 6 pounds per bag if you can't get it locally;

All-Mix: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BIO-BIZZ-...arden_PlantsSeedsBulbs_JN&hash=item1c1e8c55a4
Light-Mix: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BIO-BIZZ-...arden_PlantsSeedsBulbs_JN&hash=item5649fd6d4d

This is the carbon filter I found is 50 pounds shipped;

This would be fine in that small space, but I question the power of the fan in a larger area or with an abundance of plants.

If you were to order everything I recommended it comes to 165 pounds, shipped, VAT included (all items are in the UK and I verified VAT included) - for seeds I'd recommend The Attitude as they're UK based so no extra VAT and cheap shipping.

Use the pick and mix option, pick out 4-5 feminized seeds or buy a pack of seeds. This will still be under 200! If you have any questions, let me know brother. I'll be on for a bit tonight and look forward to helping you as much as I can!

1 plant in DWC or 12-20 litre pot, 250w HPS if you are happy to perhaps cut a hole for ventilation (depending on temps in room this might not be necessary. Grow it scrog style and you should be able to pull 6 ounces. First time i ever grew my space was 24x24 x 30 and I was able to use a 250 watt HPS in that space with temps around 90. agreed a little higher than ideal but it was during the summer months in a south facing small room so that didnt help. if you can cut the cupboard grab yourself a cool tube for around £20. Get looking on ebay and you can find some nice kit at bargain prices. My shopping list would be something like this

Oxypot £15-20
20 Litre per minute air pump £20-30
5" Cool Tube £15-20
Manrose Mixed Flow 5" fan £45-50 (4" are only about a fiver cheaper and they are much noiser. Get a 5" trust me!)
250w HPS £20-60 you have a lot of options with this light, I would be tempted to search ebay for a used digital ballast as the magnetics put out a lot more heat and sometimes an annoying noise. Even brand new bargains can be found on ebay and at different hydro shops/sites.
250w Bulb £10-20
Nutrients £30-50 if you keep it simple.
Carbon Filter £20-40 for a budget model. Again there are some great bargains on ebay to be found.

If you cant cut the wardrobe then i would suggest 150w HPS. You could get a decent LED in the 130-150w range but it would eat such a large chunk of the budget that I believe you would have to skimp elsewhere. I think that a DWC fuelled scrog with a 150w HPS would stil have the potential to yield 4 ounces of bud quite easily. Autoflowers grown DWC are in a league of their own imo. I havent seen a non DWC autoflower yield double digits yet or even come close. Im sure they are out there but with DWC its a lot easier for a noob to achieve impressive results, on just my second attempt at DWC I grew an 11 ounce (430w HPS) Think Different. My first DWC grow had yielded 9 ounces(364w LED)... If you get a 90 w UFO or similar then you will grow a lovely ounce or two but I really dont think you would be optimising your growspaces potential. Hope thats been of some help.

Thank you all for the input. I have just gone ahead and ordered the light and carbon filter kit and the ph pen plus solution whatsgoodie2 suggested. I know Big_Buddha said about getting a 5'' extractor but it would of meant getting all the other parts separately. Will try and get nutes and soil locally. All the help is much appreciated.
Thank you

Edit= I went ahead and got the nutes as well. Will just try and get soil locally.
Could any one recommend any strains?

What kind of buzz are you looking for? Pain relief? Energetic? Couchlock? Check out our strain review forum for real strain reviews. For a first time grow, World of Seeds Afghan Kush Ryder is very forgiving, easy to tend to and gives a killer couchlock / pain relief buzz.

I honestly don't think you'll be disappointed with that light set up (I couldn't find much on the free nutrient they include, but I wouldn't use it, lol) and nutrient line up man. Buddha gave spectacular advice but I honestly think soil is a better starting point than DWC as DWC is not very forgiving, at all.

That soil isn't a bad deal if it turns out you can't find it locally, works great with the nutrient line up. Can't wait to see the journal man!

Good luck with the grow bear, cool area to grow in, deffs want to see how it gets made!

a 5" is well ott for that space a decent 4" is more than enough
