Hi growers,
new to growing but really getting into. Half way through my first soil grow, but hearing great things about Hydro and Autos.
understand that Hydro is difficult but would like a bit of advise,
1, looking at a 2.4m tent with 6 plants and 1200 watts of light. Don't know wether to go HPS or LED. If LED which size lights will I need
2, looking at Forums and people are talking about 24/0. In soil I did 18/6 then 12/12 for flowering (non auto) will it be different for Auto plants?
3,I will be going hydro this time. Single pot bubble buckets. I will be getting 2 pots per plant and refreshing the water daily, will this help control the ph and nutrient levels
4, I have read the forums and there is a term I don't understand, ppm, what is this and how do I measure it

Thanks for anyone's response and help it is all greatly appreciated.

Hi bro and welcome to AFN I'll try my best to help you.

1. Is the 2.4m tent 2.4m square ? If it having sufficient light with LED could get pricey so really it's down to you and your budget.

2. Yes photosensitive plants need less light to trick them into flowering. Autos does this "automatically" and have a shorter lifecycle therefore most people give them 20/4 or 18/6 whatever works best for you. Personally I like to give them a dark cycle but each to their own.

3. Maybe looking into RDWC if your doing 6 plants bro as this could be time consuming, even in single buckets I wouldn't refresh the res every day as you will waste a hell of a lot on nutes and water. Once you get dialled in just check your ph and adjust once or twice day if you need to.

4. Ppm stands for parts per million and this is how you measure the strength of our nutrient solution. Just google ppm meter and look for one at a price that suits you

hope this helps and good luck with your grow

Lewb12,
thanks for the info. The tent is a 2.4x1,2 and I've been recommended 2x600w HPS. I would like to look at LED but have been told I would need 4 LED lights. No wattage given so a little perplexed
