So I'm new to all this I have an AC Infinity 2x4 grow tent kit. I started my seeds by soaking then until they sunk about 12hrs. Then into wet paper towels until the root was 3/4- 1"
I'm using 3gal fabric pots filled with Fox Farm Ocean Forest. I used peat mixed with the FFOF to put my seedlings in. I soaked the pot down with 3/4 gal of well water that is ph 6.5 this have me about 1/2" run off in my drip pan. I have the light set to 18/6 the way AC said witch is level 40% at 18" high. Which is in the par level of around 320. The tent is at 79 degrees with 65% rh. So now do I just leave everything alone until it pops out of the dirt? Do I water around the seed area or just mist it? Or do nothing now. The seed has been in the soil for 2 days now. Thanks and really with any and all info to help me out.
Thanks

:welcome: to AFN buddy
Loads of information to be found and lot's of nice people willing to help a hand. Enjoy your stay :toke:

You seem to be checking all the right boxes. You remind me of me when I started lol.

A little plastic dome Is a good idea.

As you seem to be a numbers/parameters person, take a look into VPD (vpdchart.com), and also, measuring TDS/ppm/EC of your water is a good idea. pH gets all the attention, but ppm important especially with well water.

One last piece of advice, keep it chill. It’s easy for the numbers/parameters game to lead to overthinking and overanalyzing. it’s just a weed. Keep it watered when necessary and it’ll do it’s thing.A lot of new growers tend to be afraid of overwatering and end up over correcting and under watering. But most popular soils are pretty airy and full of perlite, so imo keeping things moist is a good idea, Ie, don’t let the soil get “too” dry. You want to drive that taproot right to the bottom!

Good luck pal!

Hey thanks I did check my water tds125 ph6.5 I did add 75%FFOF and 25% perlite I hope tomorrow when I look I'll have something showing. How many day does it take from seed popping to see a plant?

your ppm and ph are good for soil :headbang:

Ive only ever germinated cannabis with the silly old paper towel method, which is an “accelerated” germination method that takes around 2-3 days to sprout. Direct sowing in soil will take longer, so no cause for concern yet. It could certainly take a week. Hopefully someone who has direct sown will chime in :)

I germinate in peat pellets. The first pic is the tap root 64hrs. from planting seed. 4hrs. later I could see the sprout so I transferred it to my 5gal airpot with premoistened medium. Last pic is 15hrs. from sprout. With a taproot like you described you should be up and running within 2-3 days, possibly less, from the time you planted. I keep a fan blowing so I keep the area around the pellet moist as it dries out but don't give a significant amount until I lose 2-3 lbs. of water weight. Happy growing.

I've been direct to medium germ-ing since I started growing. I place seed 3/8" deep in moistened (not wet) BB light mix, dome and place on heat mat. 100% germ. Set and control simple parameters of moisture and heat, you're good to go. Patience is all I add for days...

Take a flat side water bottle .5l and cut in half poke two holes size of pencil in two sides on the bottle bottom, which will be your dome top and a couple shots of mist into it and over the seed planting spot. Mist once a day and leave on til you see first serrated leaves and then take dome off. Introduce a light breeze and water a couple inches from seedling in a ring. This promotes root growth. You can still mist plants and soil. Then watch the magic happen!
