alright first time grower here.
I have planted and sprung 1-big bud/northernlight, 1 think different, 1 amnesia and 1 that is either Thnk Dif or Big Bud.
These 4 are in DWC bubble 5 gal buckets.

I have another that is in soil, it is either BB or TD as well.

So 5 plants total.

No real idea what I am doing, but things appear to be going ok.

I have a couple pics to share, one plant has some funky leaf curling going on.
The color of all plants look ok to me except for a slight yellowing in the center of a couple?

Once under the HID(600w hps) average temp has been around 82f or so with a RH of 25-35% on average.

I moved the light up higher in hopes that was the cause of the leaf curling, right now it is approx 34" from top of plants.

the plants are 16 days from cracking and put into rockwool.
Gave them a first feeding of about 1/2 of suggestion of General Hydro about a week ago.

Included a pic of meter I have, not sure if it what I need or not.
My tap water is pretty close to ideal PH and only 24ppm.

Not sure what it means but I checked the water in my buckets and all are about 224 ppm +/- with the nutes in there.

PH in the buckets seems fine average of 6.5 between all buckets.

Trying to keep it simple as I am pretty stupid with this kinda of stuff.
Not a real detail oriented person.

Anyway here are a few pics for ya'll taken on 2/15

Also planning to scrog these babies.

oh light is on 20 on 4 off and the smaller plant is a good week or so behind the other 3 bigger ones.

Not sure if they are getting too warm or if you are starting to feeed them too soon. But I don't know the dwc/hydro deal, with soil I would be able to help I think.

Someone will be a long to help I am sure, otherwise I will get the boots outta the closet, and shake things up around here. ha ha, just kidding there, but hopefully I can bring some attention to your perplexing problem

Good luck and I will be back, gonna check out your other thread .

Peace

Hi ed .welcome to the site :Sharing One:first thing is 1/2 strength nutes for these babys is way way to much .... 1/8 th would be better for the 1st 2/3 weeks .

PH needs to be a lot lower ,between 5.5 / 5.7 for the 1st few weeks .

can you check you nutrient / bucket temps & keep them below 22oC ? ... or you can easily get bad root problems .

are you running individual buckets or a connected RDWC system ? ... if there separate then your in for a lot of work & scrog is not a good idea as you have to clean the buckets out & swap the nutes ect ,meaning the whole plant often needs removing from the tent .

gotta say DWC is the most demanding , & need the most attention to detail bro ! good luck :Sharing One:

DWC yeah, thanks for the info. I will try and keep the ph lower.
The nutes didn't seem to hurt the plants, I erred on the conservative side so hopefully didn't do any damage.
The buckets are separate and I had thought about what you pointed out when I was thinking about the process I was going to use to change the water and nutes.
They will be getting it done today, so will know exactly how much of a pain it may turn into.
Will probably just let'em grow up and out in their natural pattern.
They grow so fast, bigger every time I check on them. its pretty crazy really.
We'll see how it goes, not sweating it to much, kinda fun experiment.

couple pics, the plants are now about 21 days from cracking the seeds...

Hello,

Things are looking good. Sure they could be bigger, but you have already learned a lot. I'll be keeping tabs
on yer progress.

thanks Eek, if i get a few smokable nuggs, I'll be pretty happy with it.
to be continued...

The more effort you put into your plant and their numbers, the more buds you will have!

:karma Cloud:

Good luck on the grow!

little update on the girls.
They appear to me to be doing pretty good; but what do I know, never done this before.
Fresh water change and nutes earlier in the week.
PH looks to be around 6 or so. Really need a real ph meter as the colored water system kinda sucks.
PPM are running 270 +/- per bucket. Kinda of scared of overfeeding but again, they look pretty good to me so far.
Day 27 from dropping the seeds into a cup of water

Yo Ed,

Awesome grow buddy, they look beautiful. Upon reading your first comment I was going to say that the weird leaf forming you was worried about is nothing to be worried about but as I've seen you learnt that for yourself ;) mine is doing the same thing at the moment and it looks so dodgy! Lol good luck with your grow bud and Keep it green

healthy girls bud :d5: keep doing what your doing !:Sharing One:
