Grow Mediums newbie 1st grow

Looking good. Thinking of trying on myself.

thanks everyone.
I actually thought I was going the easy route by doing dwc, lol. Shows what a little information will do for ya.
I am just trying to keep it simple and clean, and hopefully mother nature will do her thing.

I do have a question though, I know autos aren't real picky about light.
My light came with both MH and HPS bulbs, I am running the MH now.
When do I change to HPS?
Or do I even need too?
The plants are about 4 weeks old now, well three are, the other is about 3 weeks.

update after fresh water and nutes in the buckets. PH is running between 5-6 and PPM are in 780-825 range. That is still a little below what the rec on the chart but they seem good, so will continue to be conservative on the nutes.
They are around 35 days or so, the smaller one is a week behind the other three.

sorry for the crappy pics, the color is washed out for some reason.
I have been thinking about adding some CFL's in the corners to giv'em abit of extra light, any benefit or don't worry about it?
Will probably go another week and half before switching over to the HPS bulb, that would put them at about 7 weeks or so.
Does that sound about right? Or should I wait till some actual flowers start showing?
Its been pretty cool watching these grow.
Not sure I would have the patience to grow regular plants.

haven't posted anything in a bit, everything seems to be going well.
finally started to develop some flowers (i think), was beginning to get a little worried.
But like I said it appears to be going well.
My original plan was to scrog. But as DWch pointed out, it would be hard to do with separate bubble buckets.
So I kept trying to think of a way and finally found these support rings on homedepot.com.
So ordered a couple to try it out. Put'em on my two tallest plants, probably a week to late really, but what the hell.
My tuck technique probably needs some work and not sure if I am doing it properly.
But it does appear I may have increased my chance for more top style colas.
Time will tell.

A few pics...

the amnesia and TD are booming while my big buds are lagging behind in the flower dept but nice and bushy.
welcome to the jungle baby! lol
Ok, might be getting carried away abit, but stoked its going so well for a first ever attempt.
will be changing water today and fresh round of new nutes and hopefully these gals will grow into some big fat buds.

Hey I can notice some amazing growth there. Great going! However make sure that you maintain correct pH conditions there to avoid unexpected results. I remember when I grew them for the first time, I was equally baffled as you are, but with time I learnt about their development and now I can see you are learning it too. It feels wonderful to see your efforts bloom and the recent pictures look awesome. Wish you good luck nurturing them.

ok, little update, these girls are now into wk 9.
They seem to be doing well, with the Amnesia leading the way. Big, sticky center cola and some nice ones on the side.
The Think Diffs are budded out nicely and coming along.
The Big Bud/Northern Light cross is huge! its over 4ft from the top of bucket and about to outgrow my light setup. It has finally started to bud out and I would say several weeks behind the others even though they all sprouted at same time.
My little stumper in soil, is stretching tall with little tiny buds. I about pulled it out by the roots accidently early on and did not expect it to recover, but the next day it was standing back up so I have just let it go.
I almost chopped the Big bud as it is so far behind the others and I am on a bit of time schedule. But it looks so good and healthy I didn't have the heart. So will let it go until I have to cut it, we'll see how far it gets.
These things look to take a bit longer than I expected. Looking at other grows here, it seems like mine are lagging behind, just on growth rates.
It appears I will do ok with bud production, and curious to see how big these buds fill out too.
Little vid shot instead of stills.

uh oh, getting down to the nitty gritty and have some yellowing going on.
Normal? not normal?
problem?
deficiency of some sort?
excessive something or another?

Right here at week 10 from sprouting so we're close to the end
suggestions please, we are due for a nute change, was thinking it's about time to start flushing'em?

the big bud/northern light is finally budded out and is a tree!
it is approaching 6ft in height!!!
actually this could be the amnesia plant after reading the descriptions again.
But I never thought autos got this big. Had to add a couple CFL to get lights on some parts of it. Once the others come down I can rearrange for more of the HPS onto it.
