Hi guys. I started reading this from 1 week ago. I decided to go with a Cob build so help me god. In my country cob options are limited and importing will be too expensive for me. I found a cheap one. Bridgelux BXRC - 40E10K0-L-23 VERO 29(4000K CRI 80). It is generation 6. My space is like 3x4 4x4. I need some advice please. This model is good enough ? How many cobs should i use for that kind of space with this model ?

I do not think i can find it here. The one i sent is too bad for growing ?

@Beggie those cobs are fine for growing and for a 3x4 space I would go with at least 6 cobs @1400mA=50w
hope this helps Nudd

I would see if they have the 90cri in that color temp.. Or look at 3000k 80cri.. U should be able to get chips from kingbrite on alibaba to any country.. Gen 7 would be better if you can find them..

They didnt have so many options. I bought 4000k 80 cri x4 Bridgelux Gen 6( 40E10K0L x3). They gave me 2 free cobs. One of them is 5000k 70cri bridgelux gen 7(50C10K1B 73). Other one is V22 3000k 80 cri bridgelux gen 7(30E6500B C3). How should i proceed ?

Now you need:
1. Heatsink
2. Suitable driver, check if All your cobs Are same voltage, but atleast get something that can run the 4x4000k
3. Dimmer, think that would be a Great choice for you

Thanks for your replies everyone.
@Bungholio

1- I will use cpu heatsinks if i cant find a passive one.
2- Tomorrow they will tell me the voltages and mas. Then i will buy a suitable driver.
3- I was planning to get a dimmer. Why it is a great choice for me can you explain me please ?

4000ks are ok. But the other 2 will be useful for me ? I dont wanna put unnecessary lights. Because of their K and Cri i was wondering if they can be useful for me.

@Beggie have you watch growmau5 on youtube ? its every thing you need to know on how to build a DIY cob grow light, drivers, dimming, construction etc.
here the link to his vids

Yea i have watched some of them. But i didnt see anything about dimmers. I might have skip that part.
