TLDR: Do I still need to check ppm even though EC is where it should be?
Aloha guys, first time grower. I've been doing a lot of reading and some information is a little quirky.
PH is basically a form of EC, depending if it uses the 1.0EC = 500ppm or 700ppm. So we really dont need to PH anything? It's all about testing EC after we add in the nutes?
But after we mix the nutes and the EC is where we want it to be, do I still check PH? I wanna test it out myself, but my meters are coming in next week. Yes. I have been growing without checking EC, only using light nutes and R.O water then checking my PH to be in the 5.8-6.0 area (strip test).
