Lighting Newbie needing some help

Good luck and congrats in advance if ya grab a new light!
And whatever ya choose, therell undoubtedly be tons of peeps with experience to help out, answer questions!

Now i saved a bit of scratch by ordering the diy kit, a friend walked me through putting it together. Wasnt hard but wasnt the easiest thing ive done either. Saved 30 bux tho and the light appears to be safe and works like a champ!

is there a major difference between the V1 and V2 quantum boards

260W V1 with options of 3000k,3500k and 4000k- $279

260W V2 only 3000k option on sale for $330

Im a tech noob and my brain says grab the v2 of course lol.
Probably in some way the v2 is more efficient, possibly costing less to use over long term.
As a noob myself im not sure i could really tell a difference.
My considerations were...under 200 was a plus, and the ability to dim the light with a dedicated potentiometer(lil knob that turns power up or down). So i grabbed the 160w, it fit in the budget and fit the dimming criteria.
Same some scratch and grab the v1 if ya wanna! Or grab the newer(shinier) of the 2 and grab that v2 lol

I would get the v2 if it's in your price range

thanks ill go with the V2 then i think, and the 3000k will be ok from seed to flower? i tried researching it but it's a little all over the place on which one is best. you also said i would need 330W for my 3x3 will 260W be enough ?

I think for the amount you're going to spend on the light you'll be getting quality. You just have to grow it well after that. I think with growing autos and using 18/6 you'll be fine.

The rule at the moment is 30 watts per square foot so for a 3x3 it would be 270 watts. But when you consider light schedule and daily light integral, cannabis typically requires 45DLI or so. I would assume that light probably puts out around 800ppfd which even as you get out of the strongest point of light will still be adequate.

Another vote for BigSM0’s autocobs. Plug and play and a great guy to deal with. I have two finishing up my SODK.
