This is my second attempt at this by myself ,my roommate was very proficient in growing and I picked up few things off him. I lost my last crop to warm temps in dwc res causing the dreaded root rot. This time around I am doing 4 Think Different at 2 weeks and germing 3 Sweet Seeds Red Poison at the moment. My setup is 600 w HPS/MH with digital dim ballast, 4 Think Differents in hempy buckets soon to add 3 Red poisons in a 4by4 air conditioned room. I'm using AN micro, bloom in lucas formula also HandG roots excel,cal mag, botanicare silica blast and blast off and floralicious plus (just as foliar till they get little older) Anyways I have a couple of newbie questions. First I have noticed in the last couple days it seems the outer layer or "bark" of my stems are splitting and peeling away. Is this normal for 2 week old seedling, I'm guessing its just stem growing but after last bout with root rot I'm trying to avoid any signs of root or stem rot. My second question is as a newbie I of course was a little overzealous and started full strength lucas formula a little soon and got some nute burn and bottom 2 sets of leaves. I flushed my hempy cup thoroughly with phd water and a little botanicare clearex and seemed to help and top sets and new growth seem fine but now I am getting occasional random leaf droop, its not severe and maybe I'm being a little paranoid but just wanted make sure if that is a side effect after a little burn or could I have another problem. Again I am a little "green" at this so take it easy on me , just trying to be thorough and tap into the vast knowledge out here on the AFN! Thanks !

Aloha, i'd reccomed Pro-tekt mix 1/4 pro-tekt 1/3 sm-90 spray every three days use 1/4 per 4 gal in your hydro system or in feed water for soil. Pro-tekt will help your plant stffin up even after watering where the leaves start to droop and turn dark green- pro-tekt will also help build immunity to stresses from heat or drought. hope this helps Aloha.
Thanks for the info, quick question will the sm 90 be ok to use with roots excel? I know your not supposed to use anything to kill the beneficial stuff and wasn't sure if the sm90 would do that, thanks for the advice tho I deff can use it !!
Can someone please help me out please, I'm about 3 weeks into veg and I've been having some problem with drooping. Its really weird because it is only happening on one leaf set, the one right below my new growth. It will start to droop about 2 hours before lights off and then takes about 5 to 6 hours after lights back on before it perks up again. All the other leaf sets are perfect all day long , and other than the droopy set my baby girl is lush green and growing fine. I have tried to see if heat stress but temps are never over 82 usually between 77 and 79, the rh is steady arround 50percent although when lights go out it goes about 60 ish. There's plenty of air circulation and I moved light up just in case of heat or light stress. I have been allowing my hempy buclet to dry out for 2 to three days untill it feels really light so don't think its overwatered . My ph is 5.7 going in and runoff is testing at 5.8 to 6.0 out(using two different meters to make sure accurate readings) I have researched a lot so not to ask any dumb or repetative question I could find answer to muself but I honestly can't seem to find any reasons for this . I am using silica to help prevent droop and any streeses as previous poster suggested but to no avail. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated
Is that the correct PH for your grow mix? As long as your problem doesn't spread to the rest of the plant,I wouldn't worry to much as long as the rest of your plant is lookin fine.
As far as I know the correct ph for a hempy (passive hydro) is between 5.5 and 6.5 with about 5.8 being optimal from the reading I have done so that's what I've been keeping mine at, but it doesn't seem to be spreading and new growth looks fine so if you think I shouldn't worry it makes me feel a lot better. I been trying get a pic up but gota figure out how to post a larger pic or resize mine, but thanks a lot for the quick advice and putting my mind a little more at ease!
