HI all. Im running an NFT system and every time i go through this problem that im unable to solve.

Near the 2nd week the plant start showing nitrogen toxicity problem(dark green foliage and clawing). I have tried almost everything to fix this thing but without success.
Tried 2 brand of nutes without success
Tried lowering the nutes al low as possible and the problem is still there.
The ph is fine, humidity and temperature are fine. The root mass is healty
Seems like the babies are taking too much nitrogen from the water

At this point i really dont know what to do to fix the problem. Maybe this issue is caused by the tap water? Maybe an issue with the PH down that contain nitric acid?

I can show the pictures without problem but i already know that is a nitrogen toxicity for sure

If you have any kind of suggestion to help me solve this problem write down, and if u need some other information or pictures let me know

I had the same problem with Dark Devil and was thinking I might try switching to flower nutes early next time and/or trying to maintain lower pH to limit N uptake. Have you tried that?

I havent tried that honestly. Seems a really good advice. I will give it a shot
You think that 5.2 is fine for limit the N uptake?

Hovewer this issue is really strange for me. I mean, how is possible that every time plants take too much nitrogen? I have searched in internet for weeks and its impossible to find any information about that

I guess some strains just have a lower tolerance for N than others.

Another thought. ...do coco nutes have less N in them? Could be remembering wrong but think I read something about NFT being more demanding of some elements.

Im not sure but i think that coco nutes have less N.

What kind of water u are using? And what kind of PH down?
Maybe there is some sort of issue with the PH minus containing nitric acid?

Hello chums, I would not lower you ph, it will lock out other things and create more problems. You can go below the recommended N on what ever nute line you are using. The nitric acid is not the problem either.
Are you bubbling off your tap water for 24 hours to release the chlorine?
What strain is it?
What nutes are you using?
Some strains simply cant take alot of N and can be real sensitive to it. Afghan strains show this more than others.
Tag me on your answers, so I can get back with you. If I was a betting man, I'd say its your tap water. Let me know!:d5:

Hi briman
Im not bubbling off my tap water
The strain is Think different
Im using cellmax nutes but as i have says before i have the same exact problem with canna nutes

Gotta bubble off your water for 24 hours to kill the chlorine in your tap water! Chlorine is probably what giving em fits! Think Different can handle the N for sure! Try bubbling your tap water off for 24 hours, before you add it to the rez or you are going to need a RO water filter setup!

Are u sure that chlorine is the cause to the nitrogen toxicity? I have searched many times and i have never see someone with this kind of issue.
However i will follow your advice. I think i will go with RO water. My resevoir is well over 100lt. Bubbling all that water will take too long
