New Grower NL First Time Grow... Total Newb

Yeah tell me about it. Im about as clueless as can be when I started this, but thanks alot to everyones very good info I may flush these plants another week and cut em.

I am not seeing any amber trichomes yet, but I am hoping I will soon.
I also have alot of white pistils, Im guessing I have 70-75% pistils still white on one plant and more like 60% white pistils on the other plant.

I am in a dilemma on where to hang dry these things when I cut em. I could hang em in the garage, but I am wondering if they have to hang dry in complete and total darkness? I could hang em in the garage, but it gets a smidge colder in there and it isnt always dark due to the fact my grow light is out there and going on a 20/4 schedule.

Once again, I really want to thank everyone who has been giving info and stuff throughout, I believe I will for sure need it tucked away in my mind on further grows. Thanks again...

I have used a cardboard box, 10inX12inX18in, with holes for vents and two 11/2in hoses going into my tent for smell/circulation. Every plant is different so just watch the leaves and experiment, have fun, you will get better. I just harvested one of my plants at 58days.

Ok great deal, that sounds nice...

I was thinking about just using some tape to secure some twine from wall to wall in a closet..

I took some pictures today as of a few minutes ago actually. I have alot of yellowing fan leaves, they have some curling tips on the leaves and black spots. The sugar leaves on my buds are almost all mostly still green, with a very, very slight yellowing on the tips of them.. They are covered in trichomes. My smaller Northern Light plant of the pair of Northern Lights is looking very crystaly from trichomes. The larger plant is almost all covered in trichomes as well, except the huge donkey cod bud on top is behind in producing trichomes. I have noticed milky looking trichomes on the smaller NL plant, I have not seen any amber yet. I do however see pistils very blatantly that have changed to the orangish, reddish color on both plants..

Here are the pictures. I am afraid to let these go too long, because I dont know if it will hurt them or not. I have started just straight water, and did a flush day before yesterday. These plants will be 11 weeks old from visible sprout above ground this Wednesday, Dec. 4th..

Looking good, AKA! "Ducky High 5"
Looking forward to the update pics. It took our gal forever to finish... I know the waiting can be unbearable! "Grow & Show.."
After the chop, we hung some to dry, most went into shoe boxes with shredded brown bags between the layers of bud. If you opt for boxes, just remember not to pack things tight so the air can circulate.
Edit:Wow, I was typing, you were posting!

Nice! When did you swap to straight water? I'd say you can let it go a bit longer, AKA. Not going to hurt a thing. "My 2 cents"
Reps, brother! :slap:. Hell of a first grow!

I swapped to water on this past Sunday late evening/Monday morning. Im hoping to cut these down within a week. Do you think that is not too far from my expectations?

From these pics they don't look ready, sorry for the contradictory messages man but I would wait longer, until many of those pistils are brown. The leaves do suggest they are close but the buds are definitely not done. Maybe another two weeks. Brilliant colas tho congratulations!

Try to dry them in a place that is not damp and has a good airflow. Cold stagnant air is taking a risk of mold. If you have a cupboard or wardrobe you could drill a hole in the back and install a fan with a filter, like this:

Doesn't have to be a very big fan, but something has to take the moisture away from those buds. Humidity should not be above 55%, and if you can get it lower then even better.

Sorry I can't help with this decision, no experience yet!!
I hope to join you soon though, maybe 8-10 weeks or so.
Hell of a job, man!! Way to go, those buds look wonderful can't wait for your smoke report!!!

I'm with astronomy on this, AKA, give 'em more time, and keep them on pH'ed water. :tiphat:
This last stretch is were you really see all your hard work pay off. "Grow & Show.."
