:Cushty: good start brother

tell us alittle about your setup ? :smokebuds: light, medius neuts? :High 5:

Well, my seeds were planted in a little over a gallon pots..

I know I am gonna catch hell, but I went with Miracle Grow Soil, but mixed in some Vermiculite and Perlite.. It was cheap and I wanted to see what I could do..

As far as nutes, just been using rain water, no nutes yet.. I wanna try adding some but scared to create nute burn and further complicate things.. I'm still learning how much water to give..

As far as lighting Im just pouring the lights on 20/4 with two cfl bulbs.. I know it sounds crappy, but hey Im gonna upgrade soon..

I just wanted to see what happens pretty much. I cant wait to get some snazzy stuff like you guys are using..

Hey aka :smokebuds: they are alive thats a start. Make the most of what you got, we all start somewhere:High 5:

:peace:

This is THE website to ask questions about your grow. You won't find a more helpful group of grow gurus as on this site! I just finished my first grow and was hand-held for much of the grow. I learned tons!

I'm sure that someone much more experienced than I am will come along and give you some help. As Musturd typed, your plants are alive and that's a start!

My sole advice is to stay away from nutes for another week or two. Then go at it. Make sure you mix the nutes in a gallon jug of water, or give half the amount of nutes and mix the nutes with 1/2 gallon of water. I used the feeding schedule given by the fluoro duo brand of nutes and it worked out great. I could have let her grow another month but had to cut her down early due to an unexpected visit by relatives.

Check in every now and then & you'll see people adding their experience to this thread.

Cheers! Hop digity:styles rasta:

Read and learn the stickies in this forum, they're invaluable! AFNlogo

Hi because its grow soil you probably have enough nutes in the soil for 3-6 months!
Maybe just some root-simulator and some bloom-stimulator!
Try to get as soon as possible a ph meter because ph can tell you alot about the plants conditions!

best of luck on the grow!

Well plants are looking the same, no pics today.. The first leaves are getting bigger. I have really been afraid to water these things. I dont want to over water them so I have just been giving them a small drink every other day.. I keep hearing so much about root rotand over watering them it makes me paranoid.

Can I water them each day or am I doing good? The leaves aren't drooping, they seem to be sticking upwards..

Hey Zip little babies little water like a shot slow, dont want to float the seed with a bunch of water so think baby lil bit. Did you give the soil a good soak to start, is it in its final pot, how big,? When I first started growing autos I had 2 lessons in mind.#1 no stress make them keep them happy. #2 And the start is about getting that taproot to chase the moisture down the first 10-14 days.
That means a lil water to make sure shes goin then about 6-7 days a good runoff water then let it dry. This is when the root will chase the moisture down and establish a deep root system. Then water when lite in weight when picked up. Unless your growing in anything other than soil then disregard.

:peace: if that doesnt make sense I hope it makes you laugh. Muy stoned goodnite

Hey Zipper welcome and good luck with the grow!

There are some very cheap but effective nutrients available in NL, if you are on a budget you can get grow and flowering nutes from €9 /ltr each and they will make a big difference to your crop and also there will be enough to grow 40-60 plants. I used Grow and Flower from Organic Earth for my first and second grows and got excellent results, and I still have loads left over. pH control is very important tho! get some pH strips if a meter is too expensive.

I water seedlings only when the top soil is dry, usually every 3-6 days. Lift the pot and feel how heavy it is, this is the best way to know how much water is in the soil. Also watch the plants... if the leaves are sticking up and not drooping then they surely have enough water.

I start off all my plants under CFL lights. But I never leave them under CFL for more than 2 weeks. Once I left some seedlings for 3 weeks but I noticed their growth seemed to stop... then I moved them under HID and growth resumed. Well this is my experience, I know some people grow from start to finish under CFL but personally I don't see how it's possible to get good results... probably you need many CFL lights and must be able to position them very close to the canopy at all times.

Please keep us updated! I am curious
