If an auto doesn't auto, does this mean you now have a photoperiod plant and have to do 12 12 for flowering?

If you had an autoflower that wasn't flowering but had pistils everywhere (I.e. 90% Confirmed female), you did 24hrs darkness to kick start it and it's now preflowering, do you now have to do a 12 12 light cycle?

2 questions basically the same. Can anyone advise?

If I am growing an autoflower and it hasn't begun the flowering phase by about week 6, I will change to a 12/12 lighting schedule for a couple of weeks to try and jump start flowering. I've only had a couple plants do that. Sometimes an autoflower is late, sometimes you get a photoperiod plant by mistake. Shit happens.
