evenin guys, im stevieboy for the uk. 1st time grower and lookin for some advice. being my 1st time am thinkin sumfin that yields good and pretty easy for a noob. after browsing im thinking autopounder, in a 1.2m squared tent with a 600w hps, 4inch charcoal filter and 3inch intake, grown in soil as im not a hydro fan :L

ive read various threads and was wondering on reccomendations for soil types and nute doses.

over here everyone is spraying or harvesting as soon as the see straggly buds. my mate has turned hydro and not doing very well. so here i am.

Alright mate i'm new to this so i wouldn't be much use to you. if you ask about i'm sure a pro will help you on ya way. Muddy has helped me so you can always give him a shout he know's what he talking about. What ever you decide good luck

I am first time to and blogging here there are already good organic mixes on this site and there are also very good cheap organic fertilizers - I use liquid ones which are also good for foliar feeding - I personally think that naturally the thousands of things needed for good weed are in a nice complex organic soils that ideally has a small amount of perlite and vermiculite thereby adding in the positive of hydro without going hydro and without losing the soil complexity necessary to create a complex weed.

peat vermiculite perlite worm castings, guano, coconut hair, coconut chips, dog hair, cat hair, small pieces of dried marijuana stalks left over from old plants and so on

I also use many other things but it largely depends on where you are and what is convenient, by being creative you can create a very complex soil, try to keep the hydro elements like perlite, vermiculite and sand low and the other organic ingredients in higher amounts to create a very rich and complex soil. Maybe you live near a river with nice alluvium or a forest with nice peat, I cook or nuke these in batches to kill creepy crawlies of course before using, you can be creative but must try to make your soil from quality ingredients. I see you are in the UK so you could add a little lovely sphagnum moss to your organic soil and wonderful deep bog peat that is extremely nutritional, just have to avoid the chalk and fir needles if you grow weed though as they prefer a very slightly acid soil.

I have grown alot of hydro vegetables such as tomatoes and aubergines and this was for mass commerical markets in non-season and quite honestly it was nice business but it is not as good as real organic veg for personal exotic consumption, put it this way to make wine from hydroponically grown grape vines would be sacrilige then for me if I want the most premo in flavorful complexity in weed the same must apply so you are making an excellent choice and I look forward to seeing pictures here. Whatever organic liquid fertilizer you use start of 10 times milder than the recommended dosage and very slowly build it up over the weeks as they do not need much as they have good soil and the very mild nutrient is good foliar spray that will not burn

Alright stevieboy. Your in the right place check out some of agito's post he's a biobizz Jedi. I'm in the u.k. too and I'm finding the biobizz stuff seems to be the most popular organic medium. Its also what I use and I don't have a bad word to say bout it. The biobizz all mix is quite hot for seedlings so I filled the bottom two thirds of my pot with all mix and top third with light mix which has a lower amount of nutes in it. I find that its gotten me past my first couple of weeks growing without any hassle and just giving water, at about three and a half weeks start a light nutes schedule. Half recommended dose. Like I said I'm a noob too so I can only say what's been working for me dude. Check out agito or muddy's threads they got all the info. P.s. welcome to a.f.n dude

Welcome to AFN and the New Growers forum. You've got some good choices for soil in the UK. Some of our UK growers have had good success with both Biobizz Light and All mix as well as Plagron. For nutrients, Biobizz, Fox Farms and Advanced Nutrients are all good choices and I believe all are available to you. You're also going to need a good pH meter. Proper pH is very important and probably the biggest issue we see with new growers.

Besides grow journals, check the sticky threads at the top of the various forums, the Reference Links forum and the Tips and Tricks Knowledge base for additional information.

Reciting Ganja God Prayers can also help us newbies get better results, I feel a bit shy to post my Ganja Prayers here as some of you may think I am quacky praying to my plants so you will have to make up your bud blessings but I find that if it does not help the plants spiritually then it helps give the grower patience as too much "care" is a major cause of plant problems and at least as you pray to them delicious carbon dioxide falls from your mouth all over the plants which means the more you pray the more CO2 and the more power buds. Of course growers should inhale and exhale deeply as they pray into their growrooms, the oxygenated aromatherapy of the plants in turn heals the mind and body of the person praying. I shall be sure to put in a word to the Ganja Gods for Stevieboy10s Buds in Britain so that they are best!

Hey stevieboy10:smokebuds:

I am not a religious man so i am just going to say "Good luck mate"
I also found as an auto noob myself that the auto wembly from pyramid seeds was very easy to grow and gave me 86g dry with ease.
