Indoor Northern Lights Blue Auto-Waterfarm-LED

on tthe note of + and - to give you a better feel

Anions are as follows Nitrates, phosphates, sulfates, carbonates, bicarbonates = OH-(Hydroxide Ions)
thoose will increase ph

Cautions aare as follows Ammonium (nitrogen) Urea (nitrogen)Calcium, potassium,ZINC,copper cobalt, manganeese ,iron ,Magnesium, theese are H+ hydrogen ions (decrease PH)

Remember as your plants grow they will exchange (absorb and release)and create more of theese

If i were to filter my tap water through a "brita" or a "pur" water filter do you think that it will purify the water of any fluoride chlorine ect. ? And so as the plant grows does that mean i should be adjusting my ph accordingly due to the fact that the plant demands different elements throughout the stages of its life cycle? I have seen charts that indicate different nutrients are absorbed better and or worse depending on the ph. i was also curious as to how long until the roots can reach the drip ring?
Thanks again for all the helpful information:group:

it will say on the back of the brita filter which model it is and what specs it willfilter down to the micron and if it removes chlorine
but most will
you will find when you use water highly filtered or from r/O or distilled it will be pretty much abscent of calcium iron magnesium as you rseeing a pattern here
it will increase the need to add a calcium magnesium additive

both series you have will work well after you use the filter

honestly you don't have to go quite this in depth really to grow good hydro
but you were trying to understand why sprcific things were occuring which required a slightly more indepth answer
but now you under stand you can literally look at the ingredients on label and calculate a balance of ratios when you see needs one way or another
the def chart link is an awesome ref to go to
but now when things happen you will have a good handle on what is going on

once you run through the filter add a couple drops calmag per gallon till they seedling gets bigger and steady increase the dosage till your running full strength
you can cut cal mag alittle later when they are larger and add some epsom salts along with about an extra 1/8 teaspoon of some grow or bloom as long as you check calcium ratios and replace amounts from thinning out calmag and this will add a little boost of some extra n-p-k
it just depends how things are being used up by the plant and whats going on in the res

if they start getting super dark green cut back alittle on the nitrogen
if your grow area gets alittle hot and lower R/H then cut back alittle on the nutrients because you will have to top off the res more so you want to make sure the nutrient aren't too concentrated
but under led this shouldn't happen as fast as in a hid setup so you should be able to run pretty heavy once they get running well and established

Well i appriciate you taking the time to explain it in depth i feel like i have a much better understanding of why things happen and how to avoid disaster and. Its good to know theres people out there that have alot more in depth know-how than i do and can help thats awesome so thank you for that:booya: ill be adding some call mag as soon as i top of the res, since i have been flushing the hydroton my ph seems to be not as fluctuant and tends to remain closer to my target ph of 5.8. Lately shes beginning to pic up the pace development wise and is beginning to take hold and flourish heres a pic update, is it time to start Adding a heavier dosage of nutes??

well there is alot more inbetween of course and honestly like i said really you can grow decient dro w/o knowing any of theese things
hinestly all the dif debate about water easily comes to this
when one is already giving a problem to somebody for advise the real basic start is R/o or distilled because it will have a roughly 7 ph and very little parts per million to worry about bonding molicules in some cases
some people can take water straight from there ground well and run just fine if others w/ wells did this therir plant would die due o the amount of hardness i all depends on waht is in the water

the ph will change as the plant feeds later and depending what;s in the nutrient used and what the plant needs the ph may swing alittle harder one way or another
but you will find a good basic level and just keep the res topped
you will get all it just takes time and patients

and by the way where are your res temps hitting peak during lights on?
they really should be kept under 70 and bubbled
now w/ all this other being said
what size pump do you have on how many gallons?
and always keep bubbling unused nutrients if storing a day or two if at all possible
curious you don't mix together all concentrates then add them to the res do you?
you should add them one at a time and into atleast a gallon of water for alot of nutrients or some can bond concentrated and not be availabe properly for useage
we go there for now:)

Yeah i def screwed my self by not phing then distilled water and then soaking my hydroton for like 14+ hours in it to wash off all that silt, then i had the coco in the coco choir cup and i guess that had absorbed and stored the high phd high ppm water and was starting to burn my baby when i pulled it out of the coco went all through my hydroton and as the last of that seems to be gone my ph seems to want to stabilize a bit, with that said i know after what i learned from you that its probably more than that but as you say patients and time are of up most importance when growing.
As for the pumps and res temps
At peak there 22.1*c then i throw an ice pack in ( like one for a swollen ankle or somthing) and it dropwd to about 18*c
As far as mixing nutes goes i mix them up per gallon shake and let settle for about three to five minutes and then put in res, 2 gallons exactly fills it up to the line, then ad water dissapates or is used i add just phd water
Pumps - got two, the one that came with the waterfarm i have pushing and round airstone in the ress and then i have an extra elite 799 10 gall pump pushing the drip ring seems to keep the res bumbling constantly and the ring dripping nicely, although it could probably use a cleaning in hot water
Thanks again for all your help :smokebuds:

Shes loving life after i added the technaflora sugar daddy

res temps can become an issue as well w/ nutrient uptake
you can fill up some ice trays w/ filtered water and add them to the res to top off fresh water and that will help
it is a PITA but if you have the time it will help for sure
good she has bounced bak now that you stopped the bleeding on to the healing:)
