hi all looking for a reason why i am having trouble with nl seeds.
germinated 1st seed and planted with a very short root planted in roots
organic.never came up germinated a second nl bean got a nice root planted in roots organic feb9th late pm today 14th still has not broke ground,i had 2 pk seeds i germ and planted in same soil and they both broke ground in 48hrs and are doing good
could it take more than five days to break ground or should i just start a different bean both the nl seeds were freebies but dont understand why i cant get them to
go:shrug:

Where did you get your seeds from?? I got a 5 pack from Nirvana and only 3/5 germed for me. I used the paper towel method and then when into final pots with mine. Tap root was about 1/4-1/2" long on all three.

i didnt have any problem with germination both seeds germinated one had a small tap root the other was 1/4 to 1/2 long but i have seen where they are started straight in soil so figured even with the small tap root it would be allright but on day five now of seed two and not holding out much hope. i got them as freebies when i ordered a 5 pack of purple kush from ossc original sensiable seed co

How deep did you plant them? And did you put a lot of dirt on top if them? I put mine like 1/4-1/2" deep in a small hole and then sprinkled some soil on top. Then I watered just a few drops to get the soil wet.

Is the soil damp, or dry? Seed germing likes damp, probably only time you ever want soil saturated.

When I stick a seed into soil with a germed seed, I place it just under medium and wet the top soild and forget about it till it bursts through.

this has worked well for me keeps the soil moist and warm temp's are a big factor 80 to 85 is good .......

I planted mine direct from germ to final pots. The temp was 78-80 and humidity was high 60%+. I just let them pop inside my house with regular incandescent lights then moved outside.

Thank all for comments had about 1/4 to 1/2 in deep and finally broke ground on the seventh day looks puny but we can work on that. thanks again for comments
