This is my first AF, a Northern Storm. It's 6 weeks old today (counting the first week of seedling). I began transitioning to flower nutes 5 days ago. I think I may have started 1-2 weeks too soon (according to Muddy's life-cycle).

Is she looking ok for her age? I was thinking the buds would be developing more by now.

Medium: 60% Pro-Mix HP, 20% Kellogg Patio Plus Outdoor Potting Mix, 20% Perlite.

Water: RO

Nutes: GH Flora Series using the so-called "useless schedule."
Veg: Alternate adding 2ml CalMag+ or Silica Blast per gal each watering.
add 2ml/gal Liquid Karma
ph 6.0
Flower: Increase alternating CalMag+ and Silica Blast to 4ml/gal. Continue 2ml Liquid Karma.
Add 0.5ml/gal Liquid KoolBloom
Add Grandma's molasses (start at 5ml/gal, work up to 15, adding a little more each watering)
ph 6.2-6.3
I'm only 3 feedings into useless's flower schedule. Two at 6-6-10, and one at 3-7-12. I fed 1ml Liq. KB and 5ml molasses starting 2nd 6-6-10 feeding. Increased molasses to 7.5ml with 3-7-12's feeding.

I plan to work Liq. KB up to 1 or 1.5ml in parallel with increasing nutes according to "useless." I may freeze "useless" and increase Liq. KB. I'm following my intuition and trying to learn what works. (I wonder if I should have avoided Liq. KB and simply follow "useless.").

Near end of flower I intend to feed powder KoolBloom once.
Temps: about 72-75F during day, 68F at night.

Lights: T5HO, 4' x 4 tubes. 3 cool, 1 warm during veg. 2 cool, 2 warm during transition. 1 cool, 3 warm during flower. 18/6 on/off (I don't intend to change on/off during flower.).

I really like the smell this plant emits. It's a warm, fresh-ground coffee aroma. Every time I get a whiff it hits me like when I'm in line at the grocery store and someone has fresh-ground coffee. That reflexive "wow" and a bit of salivation. I was smelling this 3-4 weeks into the grow. It went away. But, I'm smelling it again. It wasn't just the flowering smell.

Very nice looking girl, she's going to give you a good yield.Very good choice of nutes and supplements, looks like you have done some homework and it shows in your girl.Once those flower nutes kick in you should see her start to put on some bud weight.Keep us posted .:grin:

Thanks. "Muddy" helped me a few weeks ago when I was on my first photosensitive grow. I was researching soil and nutes, and found one of his posts in Google. I had no intention of growing AF -- but got some freebies. Tossed a seed in a bucket along with my 14 photo seeds. So, "Muddy" got me going in the right direction. I'm surprised how fun growing is. And, relatively easy once you have the right tools and awareness.

Especially surprised how much I like the AF. I may end up going strictly AF after this. Maybe 2-3 seeds every month and have a rotation system going. One thing I really like is how it's not sensitive to light leaks during flower. I live in a desert climate. During the summer it will be hard to keep a tent sealed, and keep its internal temps down. That's going to require lights at night, leaving the tent open (rely on Ona Gel for odor), exposing plants to twilight during "lights out". From what I've read that will be bad for yield. For AFs it's much simpler. They don't care. I can leave the tent open, curtains open, etc. No prob. :)

Do you have any thoughts about how high she might grow? Right now she's 25" tall from the floor, 16" tall from the bucket. My tent is only 4' tall. I only have about another 10" of height (when accounting for light, hanger, etc.).

I assume I don't want to do anything like bend a stem over (LST)?

Thanks!

If she starts to get out of control, you could tie her down a bit (LST), I do it with alot of mine.:smokebuds: she is definitely looking fine"pher Wiggle"...

Shes On tract..they really Transition around this time...So just ease in a feed..
I would Wait till.almost week 7 and Begin as flowering ...

More photos taken an hour ago. This is 3 days after the previous photos. The buds are swelling and I can see the sugar leaves starting to form within the nuggets. This is 6 weeks + 3 days. (Age includes first week of seedling growth. For photo sensitives many people refer to "weeks of veg" and omit the first week of seedling. So, it gets confusing to me which way to state this.).

Today I fed 3-7-12 of GH FLora Series
4ml Silica Blast
0.75 Liquid KoolBloom
7ml molasses (it's goopy, hard to measure).

Here's photos from 7 weeks + 1 day from sprouting. The buds are filling out and have the "sugar" leaves. I'm getting excited.

I'm up to "useless's" 3-8-14 nutrient strength for the past two waterings, and adding 4ml/gal Calmag+ or Silica Blast (alternate each watering). And, I've moved up to 2ml/gal liquid KoolBloom the past two waterings.

Going to do the dry KoolBloom in about a week (after a couple more waterings, which should see me go up to 2.5 or 3ml liquid KoolBloom.).
