She's been on pure water (ph 6.2) for two weeks. She's 13 weeks + 6 days. When I pluck a leaf and squish the stem in my teeth, it tastes neutral. However, trics are still mostly clear. And, white pistils are still appearing on the buds.
So, I'm waiting. I must be close now:
I planted a new one 5 weeks ago. She's showing bud sites now. Seems to be entering the stretch phase. It will be interesting to see how it turns out now that I've learned a couple (mistakes) on this first plant. I will wait longer to switch to bloom nutes. Will wait till later to use bloom booster. And, will use bloom booster until the end. (I thought I was only supposed to use it once. But, I think it's supposed to be used every watering in last 2 weeks until cleanse begins. Maybe that would have hastened a faster "ripening" on this one.).
I took a sample a few days ago. Dried for 3 days. Tasted hay'ish but made me high. Took a larger bud 5 days ago and will sample it tonight with friends."AFN smoke out"
To finish up my grow journal: I chopped on 2/25 (6 days ago). My RH is 32%. Hung it for 2-1/2 to 4 days (I trimmed branches at different times so I could compare the humidity level of different dry intervals). It's cured in jar for 3-1/2 to 2 days. I'm holding 65-70%, burping for an hour, 2 times a day to get it down to 62%.
Weighed 180 grams (6.4 ounces). It's still drying a little. Might go down 10 grams when it's a little drier.
This is the result in a Ball 1-gallon canning (decorative) jar I bought at Walmart/Target. It's filled to the top:
Smoked some with friends. They couldn't believe how smooth/rich the taste is. They've never had carefully grown weed. I'm sure it will taste better when cured longer.
Spent about 4-5 hours trimming. I was surprised how long that took.
It's pure indica and produces a nice, stone. I'd say it's slightly above average strength. Not dank. But, it's up there. Might improve with cure.
