Auto blue dream on day 35 & doesn't seem to want to flower, very healthy otherwise. There are a few pistols here & there however that appeared about 5 days ago.

As she has pistols, does this mean she will start to flower now?

Have read that giving her 12/12 for a few days then back to normal 18/6 will help. Or is this a myth ?

Thanks

Yup, you are in preflower. Probably one of the longer vegging phenos. Blue dreams get pretty big in their photo form so it’s probably a given that she hasn’t gotten into full flower mode. So it will probably be 100 day pheno. If you have the time and space I say leave her. If she hits Day 40 without going into full blown flower then I’d flip to Induce flower

Thanks. So flipping to 12/12 for 3 days or so can defo help in your experience ?

I’m no longer defoliating Autos. It stunts them pretty hard if you accidentally overdo it. As far as flipping I’d wait till day 40 to see if she goes to full flower mode. If she doesn’t, then flip.

Haha, sorry guys, in England 'defo' is an abbreviation of definitely :eyebrows: I guess people here are mostly in the US. No intention of any defoliation!

So anyhow it looks like the consensus is to give her 12/12 for a few days & then revert back to 18/6, right? Am still left wondering how this works what with it being auto flower & all that?! It seems that it's widely suggested to flip for a few days if they don't flower, however I can't find any actual science backing it up. Perhaps someone knows different ? I'm not being a d*ck about it, just interested how things work :0)

Regardless, I'll still try it so thanks for the advice

I have two of the same variety growing now, very different phenotype though. One flowered at about 60 days, the other is just now flowering at 10 weeks. Sometimes it's a waiting game. If you are pressed for space or time, changing to 12/12 can bring about flowering, but it does not always do it with autos. It's up to the plant, I have noticed that they will first stretch and then flower and takes up to a week to make the shift. There's no way to really know if it will or not. Either way, it can't really hurt your plant. A few hours less of light per day may equal a few grams of bud in the end, but you have to balance all the pros and cons. Personally I like to wait for the natural shift.
