Now then! (That's Yorkshire for Hello) :tiphat:

I've been lurking for a couple of months now, doing a lot of reading of course, so I thought i'd better introduce myself as I i'm ready to embark upon my own majical growing journey.... and I think i'm gonna need some help along the way!

I use cannabis for recreational purposes as well as medical (back pain and insomnia) and i've used it since I was a teenager. I've just never really given up! I'm one of those people that can use it on a daily basis without it affecting my life in a negative way... bonus! I have grown autos in the past when they were relatively new to the market (LowLife Auto AK47, CFL grow) however my growing environment was not ideal, so I only ended up cropping a poultry few grams from 2 females out of 10 seeds. I kinda gave up after that as I didn't have the money to invest in a proper set-up, or more seeds for that matter.

This time round i'm going to do it right and invest in the right kit as I now have a stable indoor environment to set up a small grow area. I'm planning on converting a bedroom wardrobe into a small grow area big enough to grow 2 plants, 3 maximum. Possibly a tent in a wardrobe? Maybe.

I've already purchased my first LED grow light direct from Cidly in China using a custom LED spectrum. It's an Apollo 4 and it pulls 136W (actual) from the socket. I reckon that will be enough to get me on my way until I think I need more power. I've not decided which strains to grow as yet, but i'm liking the look of the DP Blue AutoMazar & Sweet Seeds Cream Caramel Auto. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be a nice easy strain to get started with?

Well, i'll end by saying that everyone here seems friendly and helpful, and i'm really looking forward to being accepted into the community. Stop by and say hello and i'll say hello back!

Peace!

Welcome to AFN.Both those strains are excellent and easy to grow. They both have a good yield and good smoke. Before you start give a detailed description on every thing you plan on using and we'll make sure your on your way to a successful grow.

Now then!....

Welcome! Sounds like a good game plan so far...Both the Dp's and the Sweets have a fantastic rep and many folks are extremely happy with the results of those grows...

Sweet Seeds does have a "Red Family" version of the Cream Caramel called Black Cream if you want to grow some Cream Caramel crossed with Pakistani Hindu Kush
and get some purples going....:)

Cheers Then!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! When i've sorted out my new grow area (not actually moved into the property yet, should be in within a month) i'll post up a grow diary so I can keep track of where i'm at, and hopefully provide some light entertainment for you all in the process!

Trapper - i'm very interested in growing out some Black Cream at some point - i've been drooling over photographs of this plant in some of the excellent grow diaries on this forum! All in good time, all in good time. Just gonna have a quick toke on some of this gorgeous Moroccan pollen I managed to get my grubby little mitts on :bong:

Now then Renaissance Redneck! Thanks for the warmest of welcomes! I too am looking forward to more weight at harvest time on this go-around, i'm sure I can acheive it with the help and support of my AFN peers. Your avatar had me in stitches!! I just read the link in your signature 'Life Cycle Of Autos' - excellent information in there, in fact it's pretty essential information! Just about to have a read of your grow journals now too, with a big, fat joint of Big Buddha Blue Cheese gifted to me from a friend of mine that grows photoperiod plants.

Peace!

I've got a BB Blue auto ready to start soaking tonight! How do you like it? I've heard good things....

Yeah it's a lovely smoke to be fair. It absolutely stinks though, you can smell the cheese from 3 blocks down the street! The berry scent is still there underneath the cheesiness... It is a very potent high, a bit paranoia-ish at first with a psychedelic head high which mellows out after about half an hour into a pleasant and content head/body stone. The more you smoke, the more couch-locking the effect is.

I've got quite a good tolerance for this stuff now as i've had it nightly for the last month or so, but when I first started smoking it I would sit there just staring into space for what felt like hours on end! Then I would suddenly come round and realise i'm about to dribble! :roflcry:

Exellent description, NuteBurn, and many thanks. :pighug:
