do you guys feed only when a plant looks like it needs it or before? i mean im sure having done a few grows now i can notice it early but incase im wrong will it do any harm? ill only give a low dosage to start anyway
Yes, always start with a low dose and work your way up watching for signs of burns.
Some growers wait until they see them needing some N before they give their first feed. Some start at 14 days solid. Everyone does it a little differently. If I am not used to the strain, then I personally might wait until they show a oh so slight pale green, letting me know they want some food. Take care.
i normally wait until they show me aswell but a few grows i think i can spot it earlier now than before and reckon next water they could do with a light feed just wondering how others do it
I give mine nutes on a reg scheduale at half dose at every other water. This goes for veg nutes and flower nutes. The only thing else I do ,like on my last grow, was to give it some extra nitrogen later in the grow when she was getting a little pale green and after five or six days she greened up nicely.
depending on strain I start feeding around 14-17 days with 1/4 strength.I then feed/water once a week at 1/4 through week 4.Week 5 i water/feed 1/2 strength.week 6and 7 get full strength with watering. Now if the plant require watering more then once a week when they get older .I use just ph'd water between feedings.I start to clean them out with just water at weeks 8 and 9.most strains i do go around 70 days give or take.
Do plants suffer from over feeding even when there are no burns? I checked Canna's coco feeding schedule and noticed that calculator set on heavy feeding the highest amount given is 21 ml. I've been feeding them 30 ml... Now I get back to schedule and start 15 ml as it suggests for the weight of fruits.
edit: Have I been delaying the leaf eating process by giving it all to them on a silver platter?
