Hey,
I thought it would be good to get an idea of how much nutrients people use per Auto grow, as well as overall cost.
Would be good for new growers to know what to expect before starting. Becouse everyone will use their own choice of additional addatives, the amounts for the base nutrients would be best, with the amount for your chosen addatives if you so want.

Peace and long life

Depends on how many you want to grow and whether you want the basic nutrient regime or want to spruce if up with extra supplements. Autos use less than their photo cousins, so you will get more bang for your buck out of them. Buying in bulk can be a good idea, but the nutrients solutions do have a shelf-life to be aware of.

General Hydro's 32oz basic regiment will yield you 192tsp per bottle (see the attached file). I think it's recommended to have at least a gallon of water per plant; I'd say go with at least 1.5gallons of water. If you were growing one plant per run using a one gallon reservoir, you would get ~16 regiments of an 11 week grow period (according to my inebriated calculation; someone should probably go behind me and double check)

Still pretty new, myself, but I think it would also greatly depend on what type of nute maintence plan you're using. Being fairly new, I'm still just doing a full reservoir swap for a newly mixed batch every week. However I'm starting to learn how to monitor the PPM and/or EC levels for my solutions, with the end goal being able to just top off the reservoirs and add additional nutrients as needed. Obviously, the second method would use much less as I'd not be dumping a significant amount of unused nutes each week.

There are so many methods of maintaining a stable res.so also different amounts of nutes.
i will see if can dig up some spreadsheets with "base nutes pr grow".
My total cost price during 4 grows last year where about 75 cent pr. gram
This yeaar should be able to get it down to 45 cent pr gram.
be back with some nutrients info later.
Ohh my water is free :smoking: and im using a top feed hydro "one plant one res" (micro hydro)
:pass:

Hey KsjAuto, $75 per gram seems (in my little experience) to be high. Your talking $25-30 per gram when bought off the black market. Can I ask how many grams you got off per plant.

Ballz, I know the range of nutes and range of growing styles can be very diffrent. Im just intrested in a 'staw poll' of typical costs.

Live long and smoke well

Typo lol
75 cent pr.gram 84w light used (1.12gpw 84w light)
Canna aqua base nutes
Single plant setup
all those grows and then some are documented here on afn
:greenthumb:
EDIT:
Digging into my growjournals i found some numbers for you.
Im using about 180-210 ml canna aqua vegga/flores on a single plant grow
Yielding around 80-129g pr. plant. Avg around 94g ish sticky icky.
But im also ocd when it comes to cost efficiency so less is more.
And im not on the K.i.s.s method.thats way to expensive to my liking :baked:
Happy growing and stay green
Peace

I use GH 3 Part and all I can say is ONLY USE HALF the recommended dose.
Here are my 3 threads on my 3 grows. All are DWC.

I used a 30 gallon tote and switched to a 50 gallon for this grow.

two 5 gallon buckets with 8" netpot tops.

Cheapest way is 5 gallon buckets, air pump and air stones. 5 gallon tops with 8" net pots built in. I use the 2 liter frozen bottle method to keep my rez cool but I recommend a chiller if you can afford it. Current Culture has some great DWC stuff also. Here is a link

Not sure what your budget is. I use General Hydroponic Flora Series It's a 3 part nutrient solution. Grow Micro and Bloom. Then some Floralicious Plus the last 4 weeks of flowering. I use 1/2 the recommend amount and I also use UC Roots. This stuff is the BOMB! My plants are so healthy.
I use 1/2 of the recommended amount and measure for 4 gallons of water cause it's about a gallon subtracted for the netpot. I am using 5 gallon buckets. Just take the length of your auto's life which is about 9 to 12 weeks and breakdown the steps on the feeding chart to coincide with your auto's life cycle. Most nute feeding charts are for photo plants. You just have to improvise the feeding and take care of your girls. When topping off your rez just use plain water and ph after you added the water to your rez. I don't get all caught up in the PPM and all that other stuff. I K.I.S.S.(keep it simple stupid) I use a vile for the water and a 3 drop solution and look at the color. I keep my PH between 5.7 and 6 and it is consistent. Also for the last 4 weeks you want to use some GH Florolicious Plus. Very little but use it. I also use UC roots. I use this until the last week of flowering. This is what I would do for a 11 week grow using General Hydroponics 3 part Flora Series

Seedling 1 week
Mild Growth 1 week
Growth 1 Week
Aggressive Growth 2 Weeks
Transition 1 Week
Bloom 2 weeks
Aggressive Bloom 2 Weeks
Ripen 1 week (I have heard to switch back to a metal halite for potency for the last week too. I did it not sure if it worked or not. I gonna leave the HPS in until the end this time to see if there is a difference.)

Also like I said already K.I.S.S(Keep it simple stupid.) I PH once a week and it might change .1 or.2 which is no sweat. I know I am changing my buckets once a week and I PH after adding Nutes to 5.6-5.8 using a 3 drop solution. I have had 5 very healthy plants with awesome smoke. Don't sweat the PPM and PH to much. You might over think it. I did that a few years ago until my friend showed me the simple way. I saw his grow and WOW. I wanted to grow just like him and now I am. Good Luck!!

Thanks for this write up sabreman, I'm planning on transitioning to a single bucket DWC system once I finish up my current grow and I'm a strong proponent of the K.I.S.S method as well. Question though, do you use the frozen bottle method due to high temps in your grow tent? I'm battling high temps at the moment and a chiller is way out of my price range.

I am not using a tent but a cubby in my attic. Yes I use the 2 liter bottle method for keeping my rez cool.
