This morning I dropped my Nirvana Blue Mystic "seedling" Smart Pot. The "seedling" hasn't popped yet, but the soil spilled out and the 1" tap root seedling spilled out also. I carefully lifted the "seedling" with a toothpick and put her back into the soil. She was out of the soil for less than 30 seconds. She needed to be watered and I moistened the soil and put her back into the Smart Box.

This the 1st time that I've done this. Have always been super careful with my seedlings. Any thoughts on the seedlings outcome?

Hey Baylee, I did the same thing with the last blue mystic that I grew and it turned out fine.

As long as the root is attached, you're good. No problem.

The seed came just to the surface and wrinkled up and died. Oh well...
Thanks for all the crossed fingers and well wishes....

Just gonna do the one Blue Mystic for this grow.

Oh well we tried.
little babies are so fragile.
I do the paper towel thing but I only let the seed set in the wet paper towel for 24 hours before I drop it in the dirt. Depending on genetics, The seed casing usually will only be cracked open. very rarely will I have a root showing. I am not comfortable handling the root. One tiny little scratch on the root will slow the plant or kill it.
ASK ME HOW I KNOW!
Man I hate it when the seed doesn't break ground. Im setting there waiting waiting. Shit man what the **** then Ill poke at only to have a slow seed, then I damage it!!!
AHHHH!

WoW! Sorry to hear it. I've even dug up seeds that were sprouted and moved them, and I've never had any issues as all. Did you water in the seed once it was back in the soil? If there was an air pocket left, that could have been the issue. Anyway, sorry to hear it.

No biggie.. This gives me more space to try a one gallon Smart Pot solo grow. I'll be able to move in more cfls. Blue Mystic is a fast finisher so a one gallon container will not be an issue. More lumens will be a good thing. Every grow has it's newness.
