Day 26 - the cal-mg is definitely helping address the deficiency. Also, she's taken well to the topping 4 days ago. She's a strong gal.

She's responded really well to the topping mate and by the look of things the added cal-mag is helping

With the Solo Cup only having very limited medium it can be hard to gauge the correct feeding patterns

It's more of a Challenge than a Competition and it's going to test your skills that's for sure

Thanks Tom. Ironic, but so far I'm doing better with this Solo Cup grow than with the other 5 regular GOTY finals. Having a tough time getting my seed drops successfully established. 90% germination failure on the initial 10-seed drop. Since that's across 5 different seed breeders, I have only myself & my environment to blame. Good thing I've got plenty of seeds and the benefit of this 2-week lead-time window.

i don't know if this will help but its very rare i ever get a dud this way it may be worth you taking a look to try at some stage as soon as i have a sprout they go straight in a solo cup in the root plus https://www.autoflower.org/threads/germination-the-ronin-way.33891/ also you know me id only share something ive tried many many times .. also one more thing ive noticed your using very small solo cups your allowed 16 oz and they look like vending machine size if im wrong let me know these are my size

Howdy, wanted to get back to you on your suggestions, but waited until I had results to report.
1st, my solo cups are standard USA size -- which is 16 oz.
2nd, I found Ronin's thread in Sept 2017 and was very impressed -- made my own downloaded copy to keep handy on my PC. I used it a bit, but for some reason I strayed away from it quite some time ago. For my first year I tried several germination variations -- and kept records of the outcomes. Mostly I've been using a multi-step (12-24 hours water bath, 2-3 days paper towel in dark sealed container on heat source, then once tail appears its into a root starter or jiffy plug, and a few days on a grow heat mat, under T5 lights and under a humidity dome.) Ugh. So many steps and frankly a fairly lengthy elapsed time before the plant is in its final home. Its worked well for me but takes patience and when it doesn't work its usually because I kept the plugs too wet or too much moisture in the humidity dome for too long.
Anyway, with your reminder, I went back and reviewed the Ronin method, and decided to follow it strictly for my last 3 seeds in the AutoSeed GOTY. All 3 germinated.

Just to be clear …. you follow Ronin strictly, or do you vary a bit here or there? And, do you do anything with the seed (like a water soak) before putting it in the starter-plug for that first 12 hours?

Update time. First Cookie is now 38 days. Responded well to the LST, and is now almost a week into flower development. She's now on a "bloom" Greenleaf feed program; Megacrop, Sweet Candy, Bud Explosion, Kelp Concentrate and cal-mg.

Cookie [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG] is just 9 days old. Starting to get a lite (diluted) feed of MegaCrop. Also both plants get misting once or twice a day -- rotating among plain RO water, Opti-Foliar, and SM-90.

very few extra steps i never soak the seeds maybe if they were very old that may help but ive never bothered. here are some of my pics as soon as i have a sprout i put coco at the bottom of the cup and put into solo cup the same day and a bit of coco round the edges as i think least the only movement she will feel is just sitting above the coco thats my only variation to ronins and i think of maybe 50 ive done i may of had one or 2 that id consider a failure also my root riots are maybe 2 years old now i just wet them again with ph water but im not sure if you need to ph it or not ive just used tap water with no issue and also i thought my solo cups were slightly bigger but its maybe my old fucking eyes
