Hey guys!

I'm slowly preparing myself for the first serious grow of an auto strain. I will be growing Cream Caramel.

At the moment I have 2 gallon pots which I'm afraid could be a little too small for the plants?

For ligting I would like to use 2x Sylvania GroLux 400w which is an HPS with added blue light for growth. I am not using 2 different kinds of light because of the budget and I've heard that you can get great results with these.

I'd make my own medium to grow the plants in from the following recepie:
3 parts compost
Now I should add 3 parts peat moss but I only found white peat if that's the correct translation. Thing is it should do fine but what concerns me is the ph of white peat... It says it's around 3.5-4.5.
2 parts perlite, pre-wet
1 part vermiculite, pre-wet

For the first week I wouldn't really use fertilizers but then I'd start with a fertilizer which contains 15-15-15 NPK and would use this for the whole growing cycle, fertilizing about 3 times a week.

I would stop fertilizing a week before harvest.

Also what do you say about germinating in rock wool?

Cheers :)

Hey man your lights will work fine. I think you should lighten up on fert though 3 times a week of 15-15-15 might be a bit much. I to am about to try some autos so I'm not positive a friend who only does autos told me on some of the strains he uses fox farm of soil in 5 and 10gal pot and givs straight water until week 3 and begings flowering feeding regiment. He said feeding early on would burn certain stains. That's what I've been told I'm sure youlll get a better answer from a more expierenced auto grower. I hope you get juicy tastey nugs I heard good things bout that cream caramel. I'm wanting to try some kush van stitch I heard stitch post on this site and has new site to order from can't seem to find. Good luck dude.

hi m8 and welcome... if im not completely of track 2 gallons are like about 7.5 liters? 7-10-15 is what most ppl here are going with in there grows...so you`re not that off ! ;) anyways....wish u alot of good luck on your grow...and hope to see some pics soon ;) :smokebuds:

I would feed every other watering, start at 1/4 strength......at week 3 to 4.
2 gallon is a perfect start......I do prefer 3 gallon but for a first run, what the hell.

:smelly:as far as lighting go's nothing less then 50 watts per square foot.
And I heard no mention of a fan or ventilation.... A definite must......

Hey goauto was wondering about pot sizes I already have pots for photos ranging from 5-32gal. I was gonna use the smaller size (5-7-10gal ) for autos am I just wastin soil should I downsize? I do outdoor/indoor but prefer outdoor and like monsters outdoor but autos fit my outdoor schedule and would like 2 switch to autos

I intended to feed at about 1/4 yes at least at the start but didn't realize I should do that from week 3 or 4, thanks for that!

Of course there will be a fan! It will be blowing out 190 m^3/h and that's about 6707 cubic feet per hour. This is for 5.33 m^3 or 188.149 cubic feet of space. I won't be using the whole space yet as 800 W is not even close to what I want to be using on that kind of area.

I don't think I will be using a fan to blow air in for a few weeks because the whole set up is outside (no worries it's perfectly safe) and the circulation of air will be just perfect even with only 1 fan for starters.

How many Cream Caramels would you guys put under 2x 400 watt lights?

And yes I will probably be posting pics but it will take some time as I have to order the lights, fans etc. but it is definitely coming! Iwill also have to get me a notebook :D And not to mention the auto feminised seeds are quite expensive.

Thanks m8 and as I said I will be posting the pics but it may take some time so be patient! :P
Well I still might get the fertilizer that will be closer to what you proposed so we'll see :)

I have read somewhere that it's good to fertilize with 10-5-5 or 20-10-10 (just smaller dose) and for the vegetative state 5-15-10 but I don't know id I'll get anything close to this in our stores.

I'd use 5 gal pots!...if you LST them right they should get to around 30" wide x 2-3ft tall, as far as lighting if you want monsters 2 possibly 3 plants...I would add some cfls around the outside as they get 'wide'....
show with one 400hps, 1 t-5, and 6 cfls..and a small plant (mataro blue) setup...the larger plant is my thai fantasy they usually are a little bigger plant... it's not the 400 hps that made it bigger... it's the strain

Thanks for your input! Some nice looking plants over there and look at those roots! Well for my first grow I really don't intend to play around with light too much. At first I wanted to buy 3x 200watt Cfls but later changed my mind and I'm going for 2x 400w HPS with added blue light. A friend of mine wanted to put 20 cream caramels under the 800watts but I thinks that's not doable.

Is there a possibility to get 600-700 grams of dry weed from 2x 400watt lamps?
