my fellow growers
i have grown and made a journal here about it from start to harvest around 2 years ago give or take, ever since then i have been lurking around on AFN to get more info in order to improve my last grows since my wife has just entered the growing world and we plan on making a nice grow to push 3 plants to their full potential
(i hope so)
let me not talk to much and get to the point, i have 2 setups so far, both are different in the main keys, and if you guys can give me an opinion on which one to choose from that will be great, they might or might not need improvements thats up to you gents and ladies to decide and give the best advise:tiphat: :smokeit:

we will be growing;
1 DP think different, which is well known around here
1 dinafem auto white widow
1 dp auto blueberry

*setups: all in same tent which is fully covered in Mylar

-1st setup includes a hempy bucket
-600w MH/HPS w/ cooltube 6" w/ duct fan at 400.cfm with speed control
-phat 4" carbon filter w/ 4" duct fan at 170.cfm
-and the usual stuff (nutrients, gallon pots, ph meter, hygrometer, etc..)
-escalating fans for air circulation

*2nd setup includes a hempy bucket too

-600w MH/HPS w/ cooltube 6" w/ duct fan at 400.cfm with speed control
-phat 4" carbon filter w/ pc fan at 50 or 70 cfm
-and the usual stuff (nutrients, gallon pots, ph meter, hygrometer, etc..)
-escalating fans for air circulation
-(edit) room mates pitched in, now buying co2 tank + regulator :D, i do have a co2 ppm meter, and am not looking for 1500 ppm am actually aiming for 1000
from friends experience autoflowers tend to like 1000 to 1200 in a temperature of 89F(31.7C) for optimal growth, and even if it is incorrect i rather stay at safe levels than overkill my ladies

now, if anyone is wondering if the 400cfm duct fan blowing on the HID is going to effect the co2, it wont
simply because the cooltube intake air from the duct is from outside the tent, the duct fan sucks air from outside the tent, over the HID, and then outside the other side of the tent (pictures bellow will illustrate)
now for the setup pictures (i did them with paint while being medicated so bare with me)

setup one: non-co2 enriched

setup two: co2 enriched

both of them have the basic stuff, but in the co2 enriched setup i made the intake vent smaller, and the carbon filter fan is less powerful, but the type of carbon filter used is different (lets 90% of fan cfm so a weak pc fan can easily be operational) this way very little co2 escapes as long as i keep the tent closed most of the time except watering and feeding times.
my grow starts in 1 month, beans in 1 week, full setup will be made after i make sure which one i go with so i can buy the different stuff like a different carbon filter or a different fan etc..

which one do you fellow growers think is best?
questions and advice on any of the two setups are welcomed and needed (:

admins, i think i created 2 threads, or maybe am just over medicated , if there happens to another thread other than this please do delete it, thank you in advance :tiphat:

I'll take a puff of what you're smoking  hehe

Good work, I've left a message for your other one to be deleted. ^_^

haha, female seeds auto bubble, nice smoke to be honest but could have been better if i harvested a bit earlier now its mostly amber leaving me stuck to whatever i start smoking on "AFN smoke out"
and appreciate it bro!

i cant tell if it has no mistakes to give any advice on, or if it has way too many mistakes to comment on them? :dunno:

I don't see any mistakes or problems with it. Rather that choosing one or the other, why not just buy the large extraction fan and spend an extra $20 for a speed controller? Then you can raise & lower the rate of extraction and experiment with the size of your intake vent to see what effects it has.

glad to hear that, mmm that is true, but now after the co2 tank upgrade, i might have to buy a duct fan instead of a pc fan in order to control the speed of the run, which means around 70$ for a 4" duct fan, and around 20 for a speed controller, and were already hardly managing the tank and regulator am not sure i can buy it
extra co2 has extra costs with it, so am thinking of starting with the regular grow first, and then upgrading to the co2 fully with the fans and all so i would be able to have full control over it, this better?
cause i wont be able to fit the tank with the fans all together with the budget i have

setup has been bought, looking forward to making a thread about it once everything is delivered "AFN smoke out"

There are loads of members here who are growing amazing plants without supplemental co2, so it's far from a necessity. I personally like to keep things simple, so if it were me I'd do a normal run just to give you a baseline for your new setup. You also may find some things you need to add or change once you actually grow in the space. Then add the co2 once you've got the setup dialed in and the funds to do it right. You'll be able to compare to the previous grow to see just how much improvement it gave you. Just my "My 2 cents"
