Lighting Optimum number of plants under MS004?

Greetings AFN folks,

I am wondering what folks opinions are on the optimum number of plants under an MS004, in a space that is about 1.2m high and 0.7 by 0.4 on the floor. I had been thinking along the lines of 6 in 4 litre pots, working on a 2 week rotation. There seems to be a tendency to go for fewer, larger plants, with no loss of yield (perhaps quite the opposite) amongst many folks, so I thought I'd see what people thought.

I think 6 will pack the room to much so try 4 in 4L or 2 in 6L.

i use a space of 70 cm x 50 cm and its a squeeze but workable with two plants in 6L airpots, i also use 1 MS0004

I've been growing in a 60 x 60 cm cabinet (was 3 ft is now 4ft high) for a couple of years and four is the maximum.

I've tried from 2L to 5L pots and settled on 3L pots being the best for four plants in that floorspace.

Otherwise you end up with a jungle that's blocking out the light and is hard to manage.

Thanks folks, sounds like I was heading towards overcrowding. As I'm planning on introducing a plant every 2 weeks for a continuous grow I'll just stop when it look like it is full. Some of the plants will be pretty small at any given time, so I expect it will depend on the size of the more mature plants. I suppose the pros and cons of batch vs continuous culture are a different issue really. I have been assuming that I won't appreciably increase the yields unless I go with bigger pots (i.e. more roots = more shoots), but if there's much light competition then this might not be the case. I'm certainly considering going with a smaller number of larger pots (e.g. 2 x 6 litres), but at the moment I'm really not confident that this won't just massively reduce the overall yield.
