So i've been slowly trying to get parts together for a build on a budget...
I want to pull the trigger on x5 citizen clu048 1212 and run them on a mw hlg 240 1050.
I have an aluminum plate 36cm x 23cm an just over 1mm thick..
I just need to find the cheapest heatsinking option (or mounting if this plate isn't suitable).
I have one old pc fan sink thats about 7 x 8 cm but am darn sure one wont be enough.
Im happy to go active because it'll probably be cheaper but if the price is right passive would be great as it would cut out sourcing alumnum plates.

Any and all help is appreiciated!
thanks guys.

I would go passive. At that wattage which should be close to 38 w per cob you could get away with the 105mm heatsink from cobkits. They are rated for 35w but a small fan would cool them enough. A lot of us use 50w Cree on the same heatsink from another seller on the same heatsinks. 62.50 plus shipping and you would save a lot of hassle, drivers, fans and work.

I'm down under so shipping and conversion rate from cobkits would outprice my cobs to begin with.
I'm looking at cutter.com now and they have something pretty simmilar, not as cheap as cobkits though.

@arty zan @BigSm0 @pop22 You guys have stood out to me as the teachers of the pack amongst other of course, i appreiciate any and all help and can barely put my enthusiasm and respect into context! And @A-Train, because your online now haha :smoking:

I'm about to pull the trigger on some cobs Just wanted to double check a few things pre purchase such as;

Colour choice, 3000, 3550, 4000, so on? Only option available to me are packs of 5 set colour temp so its a mono colour build.

CLU048-1212C4-353H6K2 Wattage: max 117.5W 90cri rating. is there anything hidden in the specs that im overlooking, im not fluent in terms but from my uderstanding 90 is a better choice over 80 for flowering purposes?
