Outdoor out in the woods question

A trash bag is not necessary if your planting directly in soil.Just put some good soil mix in the hole. Putting pricker bushes around then might help keep animals out but it's not guarantied.

Like Namvet said a trash bag is not necessary. Be careful when using certain organics however like blood or bone meal, as that could attract animals. When I did my outdoor grow I stopped by home depot and picked out some plastic netting for pretty cheap, found some sticks in the woods to put in the ground and put my netting around that. My reasoning is that if an animal like a deer, elk, moose or even a bear want to get to your plants for any reason, you're not going to stop them. The netting might make them question it and leave it, but that's all I wanted to achieve. This year I will not be doing that however, it stands out more.

Hi hahajeff4rey

I agree with the others that you don't want to put plastic bag in the in the hole. I sprinkle animal repellent around my plants (I would opt for an organic one). I have had issues with animals in the past. I have also heard of people using moth balls. Peeing around (not on) your plants can also help.

How about using a burlap sack? good drainage, good for the environment, and cheap.

You can use coffe cans or something similar to keep small critters from chewing on your stalk. Or a bucket witht the bottom cut off once it is bigger, Keeping the sun available.
Deer can strip the foilage off of a plant in minutes, if it doesn't pull it out of the ground. cruise the industrial areas of town for thrown away stuff you can commandeer. Being a guerilla grower isn't just about the plants. heh heh heh.

Be inventive and create your opportunities. don't let something like lack of cash stop you.

You are a grower.

Peace

Yah don't litter on our account. Recycle those plastic bags and use an onion bag or something.

ok thanks everyone for the advice it helps a lot I just had one more question what would be a really easy strain to grow and doesn't need a lot of nutrients ?

If you are a medical user what issues are you looking to treat? If you are a recreational user what sort of effect are you looking for?

Lots of great outdoor genetics to be found here: http://www.rcmcollective.ca/

You get out of your genetics what you put into them as far as nutrients, some do better with less than others. You would do well to spend some time researching in this section on growing in the sticks, and what others use as far as nutrients for various strains. Many of the descriptions on the seed bank mentioned above also has some of that information on certain strains.

Hope this helps some, and happy growing!
