Live Stoner Chat Outdoor Grow With a Cover .. can it work like indoors ?

Hey !


Ok, I have come to my wits end about figuring this one out.

What will happen if... I plant outdoors in a pot .. make a tent that covers it , and put the plant in sun for 12 hrs and keep it inside tent with complete darkness for 12 hrs .. will such setup emulate indoors grow setup using SUN as the light .. and the light cycle managed manually by simply uncovering the plant and dark cycles managed by simply covering it.

Also, if I want 16-8 setup, I could put in a few CFLs in there and in the evening as sun starts to go down turn those ON for say 4 hrs to complete 16 hrs of light cycle and then turn those off for 8 hrs of night cycle...just uncover in the morning for next light cycle... so on and so forth ..

Has anyone tried such ? Does it work ? What are the fallacies ?

Yes either way will work. There is some guys that do manipulation of the natural photosperiod cycle to make them flower when they want.

Yes this is called light dep or light deprivation it is my dream to have a greenhouse where I can pull 2 harvests a year outdoor with just a few lights an a special black inside tarp .the first part of the season your going to need to run supplemental lights to make up for day hours in veg .I was asking practically begging my dad to run this but he's old school doesn't quite understand light deps.I totally dig it I can get my plants pretty big in half a season an finish the others regular style very cool .I run an indoor dep at times separating plants to a closet while the others veg.
