Finally got a brilliant idea from a friend of mine from Jamaica. He utilizes dwc and the free great light source we are blessed with down here in St Texas. Now to control the temperatures of the nutes in the dwc he came up with the idea of burying the dwc in the ground 3/4 of the way up and then surround the bucket with concrete blocks. The burying of the bucket about 18-20 inches in the ground will keep the nutes cool. Anyone ever try anything like this. If so let me know how it came out..

I was thinking about trying to grow some lettuce outdoors next spring using SWC, should work good. if you are going to put the buckets in the ground, Id probably use 2 buckets, one inside the other to keep your water bucket from getting dirty and easy access, etc.
