Outdoor Outdoors / greenhouse 56 degrees north

Hehe I can't wait to be a gorilla in the woods planting seeds and searching for squatches. Too bad tho I wanted to breed some seeds in that greenhouse for outdoor 2013. I got another place currently but id like to see weed grow everywhere, and soon. Fuck the law.

O and autos would have done great in there man they are usually cold hardy. Just give them the light they need. I sprouted a sunflower in there and it's growing good a little slow but that's cus its near freezing at night. Maybe by next winter ill have my card or the feds will legalize it, who knows I can hope.

Hey ethics sorry I didn't really have any input on what strains do well around here I've had pretty good luck in Oregon with everything I've grown. Started when I was 14, grown every summer and now Im 21, still keeping on. I've planted at least 20 different strains of photos including white widow, trainwreck, ak47, LSD, sour diesel were just a few. I had afghan kush and pandora auto outdoors last year until I brought them inside from cold rain, they were doing just fine except we had a drought until october, I took em inside to make seeds.

Well, no, they aren't unusually cold hardy. The ruderalis hemp they came from may have grown well in cold climates, but that has been bred right out of most autos. When the temps get below mid sixties they just slow down and don't do much, at least that's my experience and I live in the same climate and area as you. This isn't to say they won't grow, but they won't do much if it's too cold.

There are strains for very northern climates and they are autos at that. I'm not way up north so I'm no expert but search the archives for far northern strains.
People grow up at North Cape in Scandinavia, not known for their heat waves.

Those aren't actually autos, most of the are light sensitive photo plants. I assume you're speaking of things like thunderfuck. While those far northern places might be cooler, they get 20+ hours of light a day, that makes a huge difference. I've been with this site from near the start and every grower I've seen growing true autos up there has run into mold and finishing issues. Not to say they didn't get anything, but it was a reduced yield because of those issues, and that was during the summer.

I'm speaking about my first hand experience from growing autos in the same environment as the op. Winter around here is wet and cold, mold is almost guaranteed. Time and time again I've seen people try to grow autos in winter and get stunted low yield plants, if anything. Keep in mind how much further north we are than you.

I recommend moving somewhere its warm and sunny all year long. Preferably, with a pool..:2cents::shrug:

Hi
I growed some photos varieties in middle of Belgium and was surprised :
In my plastic tunnel greenhouse in pots, DP Durban Poison (HEAVY producer 100% without mold) was about a week earlier ready than DP Frisian Dew (heavy producer but less than Durban and 5% mold).
Outdoor in garden in full ground, DP Purple #1 was a beautiful plant, without any mold, 1 week or 2 earlier than Durban. A second Frisian was ready a week or two after the first one, with 20% mold !
Maturity in order :
- Purple #1 outdoor ground
- Durban greenhouse pot
- Frisian greenhouse pot
- Frisian outdoor ground
I think you should really try Purple and Durban and then Frisian.
