I am a newbie. So be easy on me I have one canuk A.K. Fem auto in a 3 gallon air pot. Fox farms ocean forest for my soil with 30 percent clay pellets(Groton). I have a 600 watt led viparspectra running 20 on 4 off. With 24 inch space from canopy. Day 31 and she seems to be having yellow tips and become very very droopy after watering 2 quarts of phd water every 48 hours. With 20 plus percentage runoff. Ph of run off has been 7 give or take a tenth. Gave fox farms grow big 25% strength around day 28 will post pics if I can figure it out.

You will find everybody is easy going here.

Yeah buddy, a bit heavy on the nutes. The tips being yellow indicate that. They will eventually darken up, and just be dead tips. No worries, you got a nice looking gal going there.

As for the watering...Im not gonna take a guess. I will say, you might be better to water thoroughly when the pot is light, rather than small amounts frequently.

Thank you and I should have been a bit more patient before i gave that feed. In retrospect I should have waited about one more week since the ffof seems to be a little hot. Ok I will try that! Like maybe a little more water but spread out 4 days instead of 2?

I agree, just a little nute burn. Back your strength back some next time. I also agree with Yeatster that the best way to water is to give a thorough watering with the 15 or so percent runoff and let stand until done draining. Now lift the pot and make a mental note as to how heavy it is. Let the pot dry out for 3-4 days and note how heavy it feels when dried out some. After doing this for a grow or two, you will easily be able tell if they need feed/water. If you stay with the same medium as you continue additional grows, you will be able to just know about how many days you can go between feeds for each particular growth stage. Early veg I go for a week or more before needing feeds, I grow in promix. At early flower, like your girl, I would think 3-4 days.

I appreciate the help! I think in the future I am going with a light mix for sure. I have added a second air pot with nothing but soil to use as a reference for weight comparison. What strength of tiger bloom by ff should I use when I start and should I start that in about one more week? Thx

:toke: K-L-- the droops probably was a bit of overwatering,... this suffocates the roots, starving them temporarily for O2.... the guys here have you covered there! the tip burn, did that happen recently? Thing is, Big Bloom is not really a good fertilizer (I hate what they call it!), if you look at the N-P-K #'s you'll see that they are all in the decimal range-- beyond mild! It's good stuff, but I treat it like a supplement, and it certainly isn't good for a primary bloom fert',... Were you feeding Grow Big before?
Also, FF soils have been very iffy lately, many bags showing to be badly off in pH, like low 5's- :nono:... OF can be too hot for some too, causing such burns, even stunting, but your girl seems OK so far otherwise,... Tiger Bloom I'd start off at 1/4 strength a couple rounds first, just to see how she reacts, then ease it up if she does OK,...
Soil pH is everything, and knowing your water pH and ppm's, and your feeds pH will tell you if you need to adjust pH before feeding/watering,... managing your pH inputs goes a long way to preventing issues down the road! As a new grower, you'll need the right tools for this job.. do you have a pH meter? This is for liquids only... for actual in-pot pH, you'd best get an Accurate 8 soil pH probe, otherwise, you have to use the run-off method which is generally lousy for accuracy,... A TDS or EC meter isn't something you'll need everyday, but it's a vital tool for getting the right info about water and nute solutions,...

Thanks. I actually used grow big not big bloom one time 1/4 strength. I am using ph testing strips I got from a soil and water science testing lab. I know I need to get something a little more sophisticated eventually but I am a little tight on money right now so checking runoff and using municipal water that has sit out for at least 48 hours. Live in very rural area with pretty good municipal water!

@Waira already said it and I will attest to it as well, even as a first time grower (a noob actually) I read and saw so many issues on here with pH and when it came to simply knowing what is the actual pH IN the soil you can't beat the Accurate 8 by Control Wizard, yeah it was $44 off Amazon, but it out shines a lot of tools in a growers arsenal I think. It's helped me a lot and even now I am suddenly finding my soil pH to be approaching 7! Even after 6.4 and 6.5 feeds in very basic Black Gold potting soil! This thing is a life saver, when you get some funds, highly recommend it you won't be sorry.

Looks like you're all taken care of by the elites around here, Jedi Master @Yeatster and @Heavily Medicated and of course the talented @Waira

Oh and thought I'd add... I am following @FullDuplex feed schedule found here. You might find this useful for future grows or even now if you continue to use the FF trio as I do. Pretty good explanation of when, why and how much to use of the Trio. Like Waira said the Big Bloom is more of a supplemental nute and can be used in just about every watering as it's good for macros and roots.

Take care and don't be a stranger, these forums are full answers and friends waiting to be found.
