Hey y'all ... I'm going to paint some windows in a room to contain LED light ... I'd like the paint to be easily removed and to knock down 80-100% of the light ... any suggestions on type (latex or oil) that can be easily removed w/ a scraper when the time comes ...

What is plasti dip and would using it be expensive to cover 3 full sized windows ?

After looking at plasti-dip it looks to be a little pricey and I'm not sure it would scrape off easily when the time comes ... does anyone have any experience w/ oil or latex for this purpose and can anyone say which would be easier to remove ?

Any reason you don't just use some thick black plastic? You can also get window darkening "clings", like those clear plastic decorations people stick on for holidays.

Get on Amazon or Google and type in "Window Blackout Film." If that fits your criteria for what you're trying to do; WAY less mess and work.

I've never had good luck w/ window films ... the LED I'm using is as bright as a lighthouse so I hope to not have any leaks at all cause we all know what LED light shining out of a window indicates ... I see that some people use tintable glaze on windows ... about $15 a quart ... I may try that. I estimate about 3- 6 cans of plasti-dip being required based on the coverage vs. window size ... that's a little much $$ ...

Thanks all for the input ... :thedogsbollocks:

These are metal framed windows that sweat terribly all winter long ... about 40 sq' total ... I need to be extra stealthy at this location because it's vacant and only gets visited by me a couple times a week.
