Hey guys,

I May be being overly critical, but want to catch problems before they get out of hand.
Any thoughts, pointers, help or the like is super appreciated.

Problem:

Yellowing of leaf veins and slight discoloured patches

Medium/grow method:

Organic soil. Using canna terra pro

Feed: and supplements used:

Nothing yet, have been told canna terra is quite high in N, so no need to feed for first few weeks.

water source:

Filtered water, bubbled and ph'd to 6.2
Been watering 250ml each plant every 2/3 days over the last week.

Strain/age:

Purple Haze (the one showing the problem the most)
BCN Critical XXL (showing a similar problem just very minor)

light used:

2 x 100watt cobs 3500k
2 x 130 watt cfl 6400k

Climate:

Had troubles with keeping temps in stable ranges, have been continuously changing things.
Recently 24-25c lights on, 16c lights off. Have added a radiator for lights off to bring that temp up a bit.

The set up

What's your "soil" pH? It's one thing pH'ing the water, but straight away google popped up results from this forum saying that the CTP can be acidic so your pH may be too low.

Or it could be the plants just doing their own thing and they'll grow out of it, keep an eye on them and see if it gets worse because I've seen some weird things that didn't affect the plant at all, as long as they are growing nicely and there's no real signs of nute burn or deficiencies then don't panic.

Needs food......

Canna terra site....... It is enriched with special feeding mixes, containing all the elements plants need during their first week, meaning no additional feeding is needed at that time!

I’ll do a ph test tonight

Ok... so the feeding begins :)
Another member said he was good for nearly 3 weeks with that soil so was going on the side of caution and was gonna start day 19 or so. Still a bit wet from yesterday so will probably feed them up Friday.

Thanks for the help guys

Soil ph at around 6.5 according to the test, did it twice and same result.

Going to feed 1/4 strength nutes with a little added calmag next watering

I'd say they look a bit underfed. Inst in an ink bird temperature control of your having hear issues, set your required temperature in and it and plug your radiator in, once it takes below a certain tennis the rad will be turned on and when it hits your target temp it will turn the radiator off. They also do a humidity one as well which is equally as good for controlling RH.

Hey bud :)

They’re still rather small so thought it may be too early!
Apparently not! Will feed them up in a day or two, just gave them water yesterday and still moist.

I did buy a thermostat adapter to directly plug my heater into, but when I was using it I found it hopeless, it’s temp readings were all over the place. Or so I thought. Hated the idea of having this ceramic fan blowing onto the vent hole of my tent, made me rather nervous. But having the vent pull air through the ribs of an oil rad seems a lot safer. Think I may have figured it out but will have to see how it goes.

Cheers man

I put my oil rads in the tent just make sure they're not touching anything and make sure you put duct tape over any small lights that come on as any light during the plants sleep phase will mess it up. They need total darkness

I could do that, but not nearly enough space in my 2x4 with the rad I already have. Could buy something smaller, did look but nothing stocked in shops that I could find. I did buy a greenhouse heat bar, but its only 60watt. Definitely helps with a few extra degrees, but pretty minimal. Keep feeling like I've finished spending money, and then theres another thing! Temps are only really a problem during lights off, temps literally right now are 26 and pretty stable. Just drops right off during lights out even with heat bar on. Have set the rad to come on during lights off so I think this should really help. Inlet will suck air straight through it, so it will just be a matter of dialing in the rads thermostat so it creates the right amount of heat. A working thermostat control would be great though, shame I can't trust the one I already bought!
