Grow Mediums Perlite

Hello AFN, Does anyone ever rinse/sift their perlite ? The reason I ask is, the last bag I purchased seems to have a ton of " powder " in it and I was wondering if the powder would be detrimental .

I rinsed the first time but it made a hell-of-a mess. Used a colander in the bath and the shower head...
Gave up after the first colander full and just mixed 70/30 coco/perlite... I haven't seen any detrimental affects?
Maybe my lungs will suffer in 10 years after breathing in the dust but not the matrix. - so better to wear a mask!

Probably more powder due to how much the perlite was tossed around getting to vendor then you etc. When I was using perlite it always had some powder. I wore a mask when using.
