I plan to germinate in some jiffy starting mix using FD's tiered method. I tested the PH of the mix and it is around 7 possibly higher (I need a meter). Is that ok? Can I germinate there then let them grow a few days before placing them in my final pots or should I try and adjust the PH of the Jiffy mix? I was thinking about adding some peat moss to mix to lower PH.

YourJiffy mix should be fine at 7.Instead of the tier method you could also rmove a couple handfuls of your potting mix and replace it with the jiffy starter mix and put your seed in jiffy eliminateing the tier method.

thanks namvet25. That probably would be the easiest thing to do. My final soil mix has been running a little high as well around 7.2. I ordered some peat moss to mix in and I am hoping that it will bring it down.
