Are you growing in hydro or soil? Its a whole different game for soil vs hydro. For hydro there are several pre-packaged PH up and down products. I use General Hydroponics PH Down dry formula. You get a 1 kilo bag cheap and it makes 100 times what you'd get in a bottle. For PH up I use Baking soda. Its cheap and seems to help keep things stable. When using Baking soda. a LITTLE goes a long way. I use roughly A 1/4 teaspoon in 5 gallons of water, depending on my PH after adding nutes ( they usually lower PH )

Most pH products are very concentrated so only very small amounts are usually required. So small that they will not cause any damage to your plants.

I'm using soil, so retarded om me not to mention, yes I know that the products are concentrated but I never given taught if some are harmfull.

I am using soil as well, and started using baking soda for pH up, and distilled white vinegar for pH down. I rarely need to pH down in my environment, but the baking soda works great, and no noticeable effect on the plants, or the soil. Best to you!

If these products were harmful to the plants the companies selling them wouldn't be in business for long. If your pH is that far out that you would need to give enough to harm the plants then there is a problem somewhere else that's not being addressed.
